Man this topic is getting really old.  :-\  Here's what you do, dissolve marriage altogether on a federal/state level and only recognize unions.  If people want to be married let it be recognized by the church.

This is actually a HUGE problem that has been drilled into the minds of evangelicals and it's semi-false.  They did make some laws based on the 10 Commandments, yes but there was supposed to be separation of church and state so there wasn't another RCC on our hands.  Also most of the founding fathers were masons.

My theory is, if you're of age and in possesion of all of your faculties, you should be allowed to get married if you're really that dumb to want to.  End of story.  Kind of like my possesion on the military, actually.
