The precog in that was a golden-furred mutant who was completely feral--he could perceive the future and react to the possible futures he saw, but was otherwise incapable of normal human speech or thought. The point of the story was to show a way that humans might be replaced by a mutant that's not "man plus" but by something entirely alien altogether.

Anyways, movie looks pretty awful.

Are you arguing that Nick Cage can't play a mutant? Also, who knows, maybe he will adorn a GOLDEN bear costume this time.

Probably for the same reason they got Nick Cage and not a decent actor.
