If this demo is any indication, and multiplayer is awesome, this could turn out to be the greatest portable time sink ever created. I think we should all list the version we're getting so we can create multiplayer tourneys.
-
PSP
-
BOTH
-
Doug, some punk on NeoGAF said that PSP and DS versions are going to be able to play against each other - is that even possible with Nintendo's Friend Codes crap?
-
Completely false, that guy is a distinguished mentally-challenged fellow
-
Also, is there any indication on how big the game wll be, in terms of towns and story? I can easily see myself playing as like, every class.
This game should be a SYSTEM SELLAR for both systems!
-
Steve Fawkner says it's 25-30 hours to beat the main quest as one class.
-
:o
Greatest game of all-time confirmed! Now, we only need to know if the DS userbase is going to be so large that multi will be better with DS than PSP!
-
Drinky, use your powerful Puzzle Quest contacts to find out that according to this interview right here (http://www.4colorrebellion.com/archives/2007/02/22/4cr-interview-infinite-interactive-puzzle-quest-ds/), that Puzzle Quest is not online for the DS, PSP or both!
-
pretty sure it's ad-hoc for both systems, not infrastructure. :(
-
:( :( :( :(
FISSION MAILED. Tell Steve Fawkner I will buy 5 copies if he makes it Infrastructure! It can't be that difficult, can it?
Oh well, I heard there is hope that their next game, Galactix (which looks like Puzzle Quest... IN SPACE), might have online play.
At least we can do High Score challenges by submitting those online.
-
There is so much depth to this game, it's ridiculous. From the stats you can build your player with, items, companions, etc.
That's not including what looks to be non-linear quests and the ability to capture towns, build your own citadels and everything. It's awesome.
-
:hyper :hyper :hyper
-
Its no metroid prime
-
yeah, puzzle quest was actually designed by *talent*, not a third-rate developer
-
Why must you insult Nintendo and Retro?
-
Why must people praise them?
-
Don't hate, appreciate!
-
Can someone fill me on what this game is about?
-
Puzzles...Quests...you know
-
METROID PRIME SUXX
-
I was just checking out this game...it looks awesome. I'll have to get it for the PSP.
A note on the Online thing. You can always use that PSP>Computer tunneling that some PSP users use for games that are only Ad-hoc (I forget the name of the program). It simulates Ad-Hoc gaming but your really playing against people across the intarnets.
-
GameCrazy is still giving away copies of the demo, BlueTsunami. Go there and pick up a copy. It is so fucking awesome.
-
I'll have to call my local Gamestop and see whatsup. It'll be the second game I buy for my PSP :lol and looking at Gamestop, the game is priced at $29. Not bad at all.
-
Why isn't there a PC demo?
-
because the DS and PSP are the lead platforms
-
That's gay ass shit.
-
I hope Willco lactates on you.
-
You know the game belongs on the PC. You get high rez and a mouse interface. DS and PSP suck. Also I am having my PSP modded just to emulate shit since it has no good exclusives.
-
wait wait wait
the gamecrazy demo is on a UMD? it's not a wifi demo?
-
Yes.
-
if you fagurts had mentioned it I would have picked one up! I wasn't driving 30 minutes just to get an ad hoc demo that dies when I turn off my PSP. but for a disc? helllls yeah
-
It comes in a fancy cardboard case and everything!
It is limited, though. You can't save. You can't go past Level 7 (so a lot of the stuff, like Citadel expansion and mounts are pretty much inaccessible). And you can't really go deep into the main quests.
-
so...... what's the verdict? PSP or DS? i'm hot for this game, just can't decide what platform. is this out in japan already?
-
Since it's a Western developed product, I highly doubt it'll hit overseas before it hits here.
Since there is no online multiplayer, just local wireless multiplayer, I fully endorse the PSP version. You have only have two slots on the DS version, plus downgraded visuals. The PSP will give you as many slots as you can put on a memory stick and I think the visual presentation is a lot slicker.
The only issue I have, is after a lot of battles, you'll realize that some rely too much on chance. It's not really fair if you set off a combo which unknowingly gives the guy attack skulls already lined up. I was playing one around where I set off a pretty innocent combo, and then like 5+ damage skulls dropped. The computer was able to link like, three damage attacks.
-
I am FUCKING PISSED that there is no PC publisher yet. WTF. I am not playing this on a handheld.

ahh. for some reason i was thinking it was developed in japan. probably because of the cheesy name "puzzle quest"

Why? This is PERFECT for portable gaming.
-
it really is. tvc's just mad because we'd own him at it, and his lover WARCOCK wouldn't be there to protect him!
-
lulz i bet he sucks at linking mana combos

I don't like my strat shit on portables. Plus I am having my PSP fixed to be an emu station.

You can play new games and play emulated stuff at the same time.

The good exclusives are few and far between. I'd rather just keep it in one "state."
