I felt kinda the same way at first...I was really putting it up against Final Fantasy Tactics. But it kicked in once the classes opened up for me. Now its chuggin along for me.

Yep, I have the ISO rip of the game and put it on my PSP (via the Eboot creator...basically it turns the image into a PSP executable). Plays perfectly fine :D

Is it stretched out or in the middle of the screen? How're loading times? Are they nonexistent because it is on your memory stick?
-
You can choose from 3 screen options.
- You can have the original resolution for the game (where it looks like a semi small box...not too small though).
- The next option is to stretch the 4:3 image to fit the PSPs screen but keeps the aspect ratio (So its still a box but is slightly bigger)
- The last option is to stretch it out to the Widescreen aspect ratio of the PSP screen. This isn't really the best option for some games and the upsampling makes the image a bit blurry.
About the loading times...they are generally a bit faster since its on the Mem stick but this game has been acting funky with the speed. When I was playing Wild Arms...jumping in and out of towns was nice and quick (quicker than I had remembered).
-
TO had really slow battles due to loading for some reason...characters took one or two seconds to do actions and it was a pain in the ass...how are the battles on PSP? Be aware that your answers might entice me to dip my toes into the murky waters of emulation.
-
Its slower than other SRPGs but I never played it on the PSX (so I can't really compare). Thers no noticable pauses though. It probably feels slow to me because I just came off of playing Disgaea (and partially Disgaea 2).

Why did I use the firmware upgrade option on the PSP, why?

:lol
:(
I avoid that area of my PSP like its got the HIV

TO > FFT
-
I actually like FFT class system a bit more due to the Skills and being able to buy them (I always found that extremely fun). But as a base game, yeah, TO is much better. Theres much more emphasis put into the stat system for each individual class.
-
Yeah I love the skills, but they make FFT have quite broken gameplay.

:lol
No doubt. I remember the subsequent times going through FFT and using the Plain level (right at the beginning) to do some ungodly grinding and make Ramza uber powerful :lol. Ah memories :-[
I also remember the Secret Cavern? area at the end of the game still giving me trouble even after all the leveling though. So that still provided challenge.
