Title: News On Blade Runner 4 Disk Set And Kubrick SE's...TONIGHT
Post by: Cheebs on February 26, 2007, 04:45:38 PM
http://www.hometheaterforum.com/files/whvchat.html

The HTF forum will be holding their yearly live chat with WB's DVD division. They often reveal big stuff in these chats such as last year revealing the 14-Disk Superman Set.

It is widely expected they will announce the details on the blade runner set and the kubrick se's in it tonight.  :-*

Three cuts of the film plus a disc of extras sounds about right.

Ridley Scott's doc. man said a few weeks ago everything is pretty much done. It's likely up to WB at this point. It SEEMS like it will be this summer, we'll find out later today though.

It's three different cuts of the film.  The original theatrical, the director's cut, Scott's final final final until next time cut, and probably an additional disc of whatever extras they can scrounge up.  I'm fine with the Director's Cut, but I'd like to see what Scott felt was so necessary to change that he needed to do it again.

(PD: dur he needed it make it good lolzzlzolzzz)

I actually think many of those scores are good. Hell I could see giving Gladiator an 8. But dude, Thelma and Louise is the hit.

Black Hawk Down is a joke, as is KoH (TC). GI Jane is shit. I haven't seen Legend in ages so I can't rate it

Post by: Flannel Boy on February 26, 2007, 08:25:06 PM
I haven't seen Black Hawk or KoH so I can't give them a score.

TaL was horrible. It was made for middle aged white women. I didn't you were a middle aged woman!

Post by: Phoenix Dark on February 26, 2007, 08:27:04 PM
I thought it was awesome. And trust me, I hate feminist shit. Enough is perhaps the worse movie I've ever seen, or at least the only movie that makes me MAD. But TaL was badass. I felt their pain :(

Don't watch Kingdom of Heaven, it's shit. And I doubt the DC is any better considering it'll still have the same shitty acting and laughable dialogue.
Title: Re: News On Blade Runner 4 Disk Set And Kubrick SE's...TONIGHT
Post by: Cheebs on February 26, 2007, 08:49:00 PM
PD has never seen KoH, ignore his talk on the film. It is widely considered one of Scott's best.

I don't know why PD keeps bashing KoH with never seeing it. It's not like the film got much hate at all.  ??? I know no one who has seen it that would call it any less than one of Scott's top 3.

Sadly vague  news, the 4 disk BR will  be out around Christmas and it will be their big huge title they will focus on much like superman was last fall. And there will be a massive re-release of the Kubrick library this fall as well. Seems to imply pretty much all the biggies WB has will have 2 Disk SE's.  Also Spielberg's Twilight Zone film, never released yet on DVD will be out before October.

Oh and expect a lot of the Harrison Ford "backlog" to get re-releases to be a tie-in to Blade Runner.

Oh and they said there will be a re-master for North By Northwest and big release in time for it's 50th anniversary.

Anyone that starts a sentence with, "I'm not [gay/racist/anti-semitic/mysoginist], but..." is just obviously trying to excuse said behavior and it's a pretty clear indicator that someone is whatever they're pre-emptively trying to claim they're not.

In this case, you a homophobe.  And I totally see it - it doesn't surprise me.  Black, home schooled and crazy into the Holy Bible?  I'd bet all my money on homophobe.  But you're even worse.  You're a borderline closet case, that attempts for tolerance, as if you deserve a pat on the back.

I see right through you, Maurice.

Unlike Shake I'm not prone to fall for obvious trolls. I don't know many homophobes who support gay marriage and have stood up for gays in confrontations (something I doubt you've done) :o

Sucking White Man's mod cock in relation to the moderation policy of Gaming-Age just because he's gay doesn't equate to standing up to them in confrontations.  I bet you ever refer to him and other homosexuals as, "their kind".  You are a sick, twisted fuck and you won't even rent Brokeback Mountain because deep down, you're afraid that you might get a trouser twinge when Jake Gyllenhaal spits that all natural lubricant right into his dirty palm.

Shake: $40? OMG Critereon is the bane of my wallet. I want these old movies, but I don't want them in over expensive sets. That doesn't leave very many left!

Shake, let it go.  You lost the battle, and the war, but at least escape with your pride.  Oh wait, you lost that too with the pity Oscar thread.

No, I didn't lose anything except for a few brain cells having to argue with such a wannabe troll like yourself.

PD: No, I have the first pressing of the Criterion "Final Cut". Wait, you bought the shitty Universal release?

Oh, brother. :rofl

TVC said it was the correct version :(

Wow I might buy it from you afterall. As well as Seven Samarai

Dude, the Universal version blows compared to the Criterion "Final Cut". Plus, the CC has a great loking (albeit not anamorphic) transfer, a director commentary which fucking rocks, and the trailer.

:-/ Man, you suck at DVDs.

[JeremyG] Thank you for the chat. Will there be a multi-disc HD set for Blade Runner? Or will HD buyers get only one version, like the Superman: The Movie HD edition? Looking forward to more HD titles this year...any hints as to titles to be announced soon (Harry Potter perhaps...)?

[WARNER] There will be a lot more HD product announced (HD-DVD and Blu Ray Disc) by us in the next few weeks. We hope you'll be pleased. It is our intention to have the BLADE RUNNER releases all contain the same content, regardless of format.

Hell yes. The whole thing on BluRay is awesome, as is Harry Potter on BR. I knew there was a reason why I never bought them on DVD.

So North By Northwest on BR/HD-DVD in 2009? Sweeet.

[DougH] YO - Any news on Branagh's HAMLET?

[WARNER] BRANAGH'S HAMLET is done, and will be out before the end of the Summer. In SD, HD-DVD and Blu-Ray!

Fuck yes!!

Yeah, Warner has been working on this for like six or seven years now.

Willco's trolls are so weak they're pathetic. Sort of like watching him try to pass the GED tsk tsk. Homophobe my ass

I would buy a Spartacus SE. It would be cool to hear how they made some of the bigger battle scenes
It has a fantastic criterion and its a EXTENDED CUT. It has what you just asked for.
