The pilot of The Black Donnellys was pretty laughable. Most of it was in slow motion to an alt rock soundtrack, and the rest was just countless ripoffs of stuff from better mob tales (Sopranos and Godfather!). Oh no, the youngest, and most promising Donnelly who is innocent like a spring breeze has to kill someone to protect the family and makes him the boss of the family! THAT DOESN'T SOUND FAMILIAR AT ALL.

It was pretty good. Not bad or anything, but good.
Oh no, Willco. You better rag shit on every story that's a cliche' ever. Shut the fuck up you tween.
-
Yeah, if you never saw The Godfather or The Sopranos.
Also, there's a difference between being a cliche and directly ripping off superior genre material.
-
Also, if you liked this, make I direct you to The CW. It has a fine offering of television programming of slow motion set to alt rock garbage, with recycled storylines. You'll love it!
Holy crap, this is being raped by critics. Awesome.

I just recorded it :hyper
I'll watch it tomorrow morning.

Set your DVR for DISAPPOINTMENT/ANGER.

Wow that sounds horrible. And I love mob stuff :-\

The setup for the pilot is that there are four brothers, three of which are hoodlums involved in pseudo-organized crime (small scale stuff, they help 'run' the neighborhood). One of the brothers is a good guy, has a promising life as an artist that everyone is proud of and wants nothing to do with his brother's life of crime.
But when one of his brothers is sent to the hospital in near death due to a dispute with a rival crime family, he decides to sacrifice his future to save his family and kills the rival crime boss, and inherits the neighborhood as a result. They pretty much took Michael Corleone and made him Irish.
What's even worse is that it's not even the best Irish crime/mob drama on television, because Brotherhood did it on Showtime and better.

I liked it.
It also has a nice soundtrack.

I was gonna watch it.... but then Heroes delivered the best hour of TV this year, and I decided to call it a night.
