I do find myself wishing you'd just admit you're a Christian conservative of the reactionary variety, PD. :-\ All your wrangling and posturing doesn't even seem to give you a semantic edge in arguments, anyhow -- we've pretty clearly established that you shill for the Bible, are fiercely anti-education and anti-science, and will give Republican/conservative hypocrisy a pass while inappropriately harping on minor Democratic/liberal gaffes all because, again, science/education elitists piss you off.
Home schooling FTL. :-\
it does indeed make you a conservative, because your beliefs exist in direct contradiction to the scientific method OH GOD IT'S JUST TOO PAINFUL TO IMITATE YOUR DISINGENUOUS APPROACH TO INTERNET ARGUMENTATION :-\
gee, didn't see that one comin'
. Anti-science? Because I don't believe in evolution I'm anti-science? That's some rather simplistic logic don't you thinkEvolution isn't a belief. It is a fact of life. You don't say you "believe" in gravity. I am a christian but its absurd to not accept evolution.
Last time I checked Galileo was a Christian. So please don't pull that - you should be smarter. While "the church" definitely hated his ideas/theories, to simply describe this as Christians hating science would be revising history.. Anti-science? I hate that about my religion, it takes so fucking long for us to accept facts of life. We refused to believe the earth rotated around the sun when scientists were already saying it was so. So many christians (such as PD) won't listen to anything that may call into question beliefs they created by reading in-between the lines of the Bible.

My question is, where is the proof of your non-evolution view? It seems contradictory to how nature works and I can't see having a understanding of the world and being able to stick to it. Where is your proof that makes you depute evolution?

I'm with you, Phoenix Dark!
I'm sick and tired of people not respecting my beliefs that the Earth is the center of the universe.

The reigning orthodoxy at the time was that the sun revolved around the Earth. The orthodoxy was party the fault of the Ancient Greeks, but it was mostly rooted in biblical scripture taken literally. The Church was simply reading the bible. At the time Protestants weren't much better as Luther said of Copernicus "the fool wants to turn the whole art of astronomy upside-down". Christians at the time were hostile to the idea because they believed it contradicted 'Holy Scripture'. Today fundies are against evolution for the very same reason.
Don't play dumb.
Nice comparing Darwin to Hitler by the way.
And Darwin only wanted to be in the clergy so that he would have time to study nature.

They weren't known as christians...
So you agree that no christians at the time believed in evolution/earth spinning around the sun?
Um, Galileo did. And considering you don't know what all Christians believed at the time lets leave the fallacies at the door mm'k?He didn't believe the bible should be taken literally and was banished from holding his beliefs until a new pope was made.
