I read Wiki that a SS collection is coming out sometime this year. Should I just wait for that ... or are there other methods of playing my favorite 2D fighter?
I vaguely remember someone saying that the Xbox had a version(s) of the game. Was that any good? Or was that just emus?

Emulation is the suggested first route obviously as it's practically guaranteed to be arcade perfect. I use NeoRageX with an old model RadioShack USB->PS2 converter and am perfectly satisfied with my nasty Ukyo apple-tossing action.
The only SS I can think of off hand that was ported to Xbox is Samurai Shodown V. I can't speak for it's quality, but I remember Matlock's gaming-age review mentioning that it's similar to SS4 and that it's good aside from some practice mode quirks. Remember though, Matlock said this.
Nevermind-- looks like it was BuddyC. Is that more credible? I don't know.

the PS2 japanese port of the Atomiswave-made Samurai Shodown VI is very good too
and that Samsho anthology is probably only going to be released on Japanese PS2 import too
great occasion to get a modded PS2

Looks like I will go the emu route then ... Thanks.

You should play Samurai Spirits Tenkaichi Kenkakuden (SS "VI") because it fucking rocks, AND brings back all the SS2 characters. :D
Also regarding the Neo-Geo on Wii, I wouldn't be expecting to see SS2 on there anytime soon; I think it's going to be games like Baseball Stars. I expect to see more fighters (if any) on the Japanese Virtual Console, and also expect it to take FOREVER for anything from SNK to appear. Let's not forget that Fatal Fury Special was announced for XBLA well over a year ago, and SNK also said they'd be bringing downloadable games to the PS3 too. Nothing has happened yet.

SNK needs to focus on the PS2 Neo Geo Collections - so far those games have all been arcade perfect, except for The Last Blade collection....
BTW, lyte edge, I picked up Real Bout Fatal Fury Collection and was pleased that they kept the blood, even if they did cut out the bare nipple action.
