Title: Bullet Witch: An Easy Target for Critics, but a really fun game and concept.

Ill admit first off that Bullet Which is one of the X360 games that displays some almost embarassing flaws or just plain grade-school level mechanics and poor AI, but god damn if the concept and the action doesnt keep things fresh and fun. When you first start the game you'll probably wince at the shitty shadows, or the stupid AI, or the bizzare spell wheel. It isnt really until your first cast of lightning, or the first boss (a floating brain that hurls flaming automobiles at you) that you really start to 'get' Bullet Witch.

By level 2 the controls 'make sense' and despite the animations being janky and the targeting being 'weird', youre moving through the action with a strange sort of methodical skill as you go from enemy to enemy exchanging blows or bullets or spells. I mean for example, I found myself on this street where there was a auto tossing floating brain and several rocket launcher toting demons from hell. First thing I did was erect a wall with a spell to protect myself from the bullets while I ready my next spell, which I unleash as I jump out from behind the magic wall. Ravens, dozens of them descend on the infantry in front of me pecking at their flesh as I giving my shotgun a twirl to trade it for my longer range automatic rifle.

But oh no, innocents and brothers in arms are in trouble and dying on the ground. I run to their side and quickly use the sacrifice spell to revive them to running or fighting form. More demon infantry from the flank? I toss a rose at their feet which summons a series of spikes that impale them, and soon starts them on fire. Suddenly a flaming car comes flying at me so I pull off a sideways flip with a perfect landing as I whip out my spell wheel with JUST enough energy to cast lightning on the floating brain. A cascade of electricity showers around my target until one final bolt spells its doom.

Seriously tho, you havent lived till you've exploded an entire gas statioin.

Yes, I'm an achievement whore. I plan on getting King Kong, Madden 06, and the 2K Sports 2K6 titles, now that they're cheap, for the easy achievement points. Fight Night Round 3, too. Maybe FIFA 06: Road To The World Cup, but I can't stand soccer.

Actually I wasnt three levels in, they felt like levels...well NOW im 3 levels in ;)

Anyway you get an achievement for each level, on ON the third one, and while the levels are linear they are pretty big and have lots of checkpoints you can actually leave the game at and start at later.

To be honest tho im having a blast with the game, and the post apocalyptic setting is a lot of fun, and sometimes a little silly. The main plot revelations start up three levels in with the conclusion being pretty obvious right away, but whatever. This is the kinda shit I loved in the arcades back when.

Don't get King Kong, that game is horrendous. Even Eragon is better than that.

Cars is okay - JUST OKAY - and the achivements seem to be pretty easy to get.

Im at the last level, going to tackle it this weekend I think. I kinda hope the game lets you carry the character over to the next difficulty. I really want the chaingun rod and superpowered spell types.

i'm having so much fun with this game, this is another unexpected hit, i'm at the second level now, and its just so much fun! I love impaling demons with those roses, wow just wow.

I give the game a solid 8/10 so far.

I'd give it a 7 or 7.5.

You MIGHT fume at the snipers on the last level, and there's levels later on where there's just TOO MUCH fog or there's high grass and that doesnt work with the camera. Other than that ive loved the predictable story and over the top occult action.

I beat it on Normal. It didn't unlock the "Easy Complete" achievement, which sucks. I am going to go for 1000.
