Not much competition for original star wars trilogy :lol

Not much competition for original star wars trilogy :lol
The Man With No Name Trilogy will probably beat it if I know EB well enough.
-
never seen all of The Man With No Name trilogy, so I can't say. I don't care for Star Wars, so I pick the homo-erotic fanfic inducing LOTR trilogy.
Why did you even put the M:I trilogy up there? M:I 2 is complete ass
-
I was torn between LoTR and Indiana Jones.
-
I have been owned already
-
I was torn between LoTR and Indiana Jones.
Goddammit, I love you more and more each day.
-
It's tough, because ESB is one of my favorite movies ever. That movie alone raises it above the Indy movies as a collective.
Wasn't there three Die Hard movies?
-
Wasn't there three Die Hard movies?
Yeah, but only one was awesome.
Anyway I picked the original Star Wars trilogy because it's the father. If I were to rank them
1. Star Wars:
-ANH: 9.5/10
-ESB: 10/10
-ROTJ: 9/10
2. LOTR:
-FOTR: 10/10
-TTT: 9.5/10
-ROTK: 10/10
3. Indiana Jones
-Raiders: 10/10
-Temple: PENDING (haven't seen it in ages, so I'll watch it tomorrow)
-Last Crusade: 10/10
-
pluto the folks who voted star wars ot
-
the top 4 are all great, hmmmmm, man with no name, and lotr will hold up the best though.
-
Drinky what did you vote for. I know you love Raiders but couldn't guess which trilogy you think is best
-
Man With No Name Trilogy, duh, i'm a fucking snob remember
-
Back to the Future guyz.
-
The Man With No LSAT score voted for The Man With No Name Trilogy
-
Idiana Jones is, to me, the most consistent one I've seen. Temple of Doom was lawl wtf, but it still was enjoyable. And Raiders is my favorite movie ever, so yeah.
Never saw the Man with No Name.
-
cant choose between BttF Diehard Indy and StarWars OT and Lotr. I know the worst is though and thats the Matrix. I only recognize the first.
-
STAR WARS IS WINNING HOORAY!!!!!
-
As much as I love the Leone/Eastwood movies, and as much as I despise Lucas's current output, the Man With No Name movies are only connected by the barest of threads and IMO don't qualify as a real trilogy where the action that occurs in one film somehow affects the other. So I voted for the Star Wars OT.
-
I voted the Dollars trilogy.
-
How can the Man w/ No Name Trilogy be tied with motherfucking Star Wars?! :rofl
You guys suck at movies.
-
Dollars, duh. Indiana Jones would be next in line.
-
HE IS WINNING

If the Sanjuro series had had a "real" 3rd film, I'm pretty sure it would be my favorite, or at least tied with the Dollars Trilogy.
-
Die Hard should be up there.
-
Too early to add Spiderman? It really doesn't matter how it turns out-- it's not like Back to the Future 3 stopped people from voting for the series.

Did Kurosawa ever plan to do a third one?
And spider-man only has 2 so far! Plus everything about the third makes it look to be the worst of the 3 sadly.
-
That poster > BTTF 3 :-\
-
That poster > BTTF 3 :-\
Yeah but BTTF 1 was alone better than Spidey 1 and 2, and I loved Spidey 2.
-
That poster is pretty cool.
My only problem with BTTF3 is that the ending felt kinda half-assed/rushed but besides that I liked it.
-
I voted for the OT
Fuck you guys.

I haven't seen the Dollar movies in a long ass time but I don't remember considering them to be omg amazing. TGTBTU is fuck awesome
-
The Good, The Bad and the Ugly is part of the Dollars trilogy, though.
-
I know. I'm just saying the Dollars movies (Fist Full of Dollars, For a Few Dollars More) weren't really omg amazing to me. But I haven't seen them in ages so perhaps my opinion has changed
-
Probably not, your opinion just blows!
-
Which one is the one with the "get three coffins ready" scene? lol that's all I remember about the movie, and I haven't seen it all.
-
That's Fistful of Dollars. I tend to lean more to Yojimbo overall, but that scene is much better in FoD.
-

Watch the whole trilogy in order: TGTBTU(it is the prequel to the first two films), Fistfull of Dollars, For Few Dollars More in the course of say one weekend. :bow
Eastwood apparently likes to hint at the fact that the un-named character of his in two of his westerns High Plains Drifter & Pale Rider is also "The Man With No Name" but I don't buy it. Though the idea 10+ years after the events of the Dollars trilogy he becomes a preacher is intriguing I stand by the character is Leone movies only and those two film's wandering drifter is apparently somesort of angel or God himself.
And I prefer the character just being a unknown badass and not Jesus.

Hm I need to see those movies damn

They are fucking fantastic even though I dont like the idea of the character being TMWNN, I know Solo isn't to huge on them but they are some of the greatest westerns ever and are critically adored.

:lol :lol :lol
Ok, I REALLY need to see that now
-
Rent both whenever you have the chance. I would like to own them, I also need the dollar movies. :-\ I only own TGTBATU.
-
I don't care for 'em. There are lots, and I mean lots, of better westerns than either of 'em, Cheebs. They don't even crack the Top 20 of the genre.
-

They are pretty damn well loved. They are universally praised. Roger Ebert gave both 4 stars I believe.
But I am more of a fan of Eastwood-Westerns than the westen genre it's self and these 2 are the best with him outside his work with Leone.
-
They're not universally praised. Ebert is not the bar, either. They're geniunely well liked, but always considered inferior to Eastwood's Leone movies.
The fact is there are a lot more Westerns that are critically acclaimed and held in reverence over those Eastwood fillms.

Of course they aren't better than Leone's. But except for Unforgiven I do not believe there are any eastwood westerns better than those two.
Oh and PD. Pale Rider is on TNT March 3rd(tomorrow) at 12:30.
High Plains Drifter is ALSO on tomorrow. But on AMC at 10:30 PM. Watch both!
-
I think I'm going to a basketball game tomorrow morning so I'll miss the first one.
-

at least try to watch high plains drifter its on last.
-
LOTR. I've been a fan of LOTR since I was a little kid. How can it not be my favorite trilogy when it's so accurately and well directed?
Star Wars sucks.
-
The Wild Bunch is better than either of the first two dollars films combined, and just slightly below TGTBATU.
-

No. Watch them in the order they were released - FOD, FAFDM, then TGTBATU. I dont care if TGTBATU is technically a prequel. The series has such little continuity that it doesnt matter if you watch them in that order. And if you watch TGTBATU first, you'll be sorely disappointed by FOD. Not only did the budget grow like 10x between FOD and TGTBATU, but more importantly, Leone's talent grew immensely from picture to picture. Watching them in the way you suggest would be like watching Schindler's List before watching Hook and Jurassic Park.
And Shake is wrong. Again.
-
i love tgtbatu, but shortround says my vote can only go to dr. jones.
-
I have always been a chronological whore.
Even with the extreme weakness of the star wars prequels when I have that rare urge to watch star wars films I always go 1-6.
-
Im all about chronological order too. But in the order of release.
-
I am more about the storyline. Hell I always watch The Temple of Doom before Raiders since it takes place before Raiders, I am that anal about things. :-[ Plus it gets the weakest one out of the way.
-
Cheebs am masochist confirmed. So will you watch CR before Dr. No? :lol
-
I plan to watch the series "in order" of Royale through Die Another Day when I have a chance this year, so yes. :lol
-
You're crazy. My Bond fests usually include the first 4 Connerys, OHMSS, For Your Eyes Only, The Living Daylights, and Goldeneye.
-
I have never watched all of them in a row before and would like to see how it works.
-
Ive done it several times. 1 a day or so over a month. Used to always do it in November. Did it this past November, in fact. All 20. First time Id done it in a few years.
-
Does it bother you once you realize you have probably seen Moonraker more times than some of the greatest films of all time that you love?
-
Nah. Many of those viewings were when I was too young to have any taste, lolz. It was mostly for comedic effect this last time, and it delivered.
