I am listening to their song "Amsterdam" right now and crying. Their music is so beautiful and emotional. :'(
-
No, they suck big fat balls
-
No, they suck big fat balls
lol, yeah, they're not awesome like Australian music - Men at Work, Thirty Odd Foot of Grunts, and that chick who sings "Torn."
-
Are you british?
-
Are you british?
No. But Coldplay still rules.

I've never heard of them. They must really suck.
-
Yeah, the drones are pretty good. Haven't heard those other ones.

I admit I like Coldplay.

Hell to the yes. :burgerking

I cant wait to see how different their CD is this fall. X&Y did not sell as much as their past two cd's so they brought in the legendary producer Brian Eno to shake everything up and get them "back on track". Curious what kind of changes have been made.
-
:lol
-
All their shit sounds the same. Hell, Clocks and Speed of Sound pretty much ARE the same song. It takes a lot of audacity to release the same single twice. I hate these guys.

That is part of the reason Brian Eno has been brought in. X&Y was seen as too much of the same.
-
They basically changed the lyrics and arrangements to existing songs, so yeah, Id say thats a bit too "samey".
-
I have faith in Brian Eno. :-[

You can't shine poop.
-
He turned U2 around in the late 80's from a simple pop band to what they are now.
-
An annoyingly preachy bunch of meddlers?
-
I am not talking quality but they were no longer the "same" band and vastly different for the most part in the type of music they had as hits, I am saying why won't this be done to Coldplay as well?
The guy is hired with the sole expectation of changing Coldplay.
-
I dont know how much you can change Coldplay. I mean, they pretty much are what they are.
-
Why would they hire a biggie like Eno if they didn't think it could be done?
-
Because it looks good on paper? I dunno.
-
Parachutes is damn good.

GTFO of this thread and go to a movie theater or something. You don't understand the power of Coldplay's music. >:(
-
Ichirou how do you feel about Brian Eno coming in and pulling "a U2" and giving the band a new image and broader appeal with their upcoming CD?
-
Coldplay fucking rocks. I speed of sound is the f22 song...... i wanna flyyyyyyyyyyyyy

I like U2 so I'm excited to see what Eno does with them. It will rock. :)

I can't tell if this is a joke post or not. Power and Coldplay have about as much reason to be in the same sentence as Uwe Boll and De Sica.

I doubt you've ever seen an Uwe Boll film. Probably comes up too low on Rotten Tomatoes for you to bother.

You are funny, as most hypocrites are. You give me all this shit about being some sort of elitist film bastard/RT worshipper (the latter is insanely hilarious, since Ive never relied on that site for anything, but apparently, you KNOW ME, and apparently, I DO frequent RT). Shall I go to GAF and dig up the numerous examples of you being about twice as snooty and elitist?
-
With TVC15 gone, Ichirou feels like he has to bring da gay to da forum.
-
Im gonna send money to Japan to get him a whore.

I'M IN UR HOUSE, SMELLING UR ROTTEN TOMATOES.

So basically, I'm right? Thought so. Also, I could just as easily say the same shit about you and Criterion (relying on them to "tell you" what great films are). But I won't. Why? I don't care. Can we drop this, or must we continue ad nauseum?

Except I don't mindlessly rely on Criterion, I even got into an argument against some dumbass on GAF who insisted on buying every single Criterion Collection release, even if the movies were available in non-Criterion versions.
-
I cry to the song The Scientist.
-
DROP IT LIKE ITS HOT

when there is a verison that is a non-criterion of a criterion its rather stupid to go with the non-criterion. The criterion one normally has MUCH better extras, a longer cut many times, better picture quality..etc

Except when it's one of the really old ones that aren't even anamorphic.

Yeah there is like ten out of 400+, 95% of the time you are foolish to not go with the criterion

My point is this guy wanted the crappy Criterion versions of stuffs like Time Bandits instead of the superior non-Criterion versions. That's pathetic.

Coldplay is like the midday movie of the music world: melodramatic crap.

Time Bandits 2-Disk SE is better than the criterion in all ways but one. No commentary with Gilliam and Michael Palin(also of Monty Python). I went with the non-Criterion obviously but I would like to hear that commentary sometime.
Another title will be added to the non-criterion superior edition. Miramax is doing a two disk SE of Chasing Amy with all the goodies of a modern day Kevin Smith DVD for the 10th anniversary this fall and it wont be criterion.

The Criterion Chasing Amy isn't in its proper aspect ratio, anyway. Criterion got the wrong elements from Miramax or something, I remember reading.

I honestly can't knock this post. Coldplay suffers from the same problem artists like Kid Rock and Staind do - they constantly release singles that sound like their previous huge hits, but worse. Speed of Sound is soo much like the stuff on AROCBTTH that it's not funny. As Solo said, it's like releasing the same song twice. Clocks is a fucking amazing song that will probably be remembered a decade from now. Speed of Sound is a cheap sounding cash in.
They have some good songs, but everything I heard from their latest album sucked
-
Coldplay was surprisingly fuck awesome live last summer. I'm very happy I went, they sounded really tight.
