Title: Should I track down my possible, long lost secret half sister?
Post by: The Fake Shemp on March 09, 2007, 09:01:06 PM
My father told me in private, and nobody knows about it save for him and myself, that in between his two marriages, he had a brief affair with a married woman.  It was when her marriage was on the slopes.  Well, her and her husband got back together not too long afterwards and she was pregnant.  To this day, it was never confirmed, but it was always a very good shot that her girl was fathered by my dad.  She'd be just a couple of years younger than me.  I always wondered if I should try and find out if we're related or not, but I think that would be unfair.  Maybe I'll wait like, thirty years and hopefully her folks will be dead or in an old folk's home, so it won't shatter her image of her perfect life.

You should find her, marry her, and move to Germany.

Do it!

I have a half-sister I never met and apparently she has three kids.

Don't try to find her. Leave her and her real family alone.

This sounds like that SomethingAwful joke thread about the guy who found out his half-sister was an Internet porn star.  She came over for Thanksgiving or Christmas or something and awkwardness ensued.

She can't possibly be as cool as your other sister, so why even bother?

I wouldn't even bother with it. It'd do more harm than good at this point.

"One in five married women has had a fling -- the highest numbers ever recorded, according to one group of researchers. In fact, the numbers of cheating wives now equals the statistics on cheating husbands, according to a study by Tom W. Smith with the National Opinion Research Center."
