So I'm working on this piece for my new avatar, and I got stuck for a few moments trying to get the perfect lighting on Raz's face.

With the right nudge from someone I was able to pull off the lighting in a decent manner but I'd like to improve. As this forum has quite a few artists, I was wondering if anyone had any particular tips on shadows and lighting.

Do you know how to do gradients? Are you using MS paint?

Duh. I zoomed in and capped it.
I like it when it's bigger. Pity about the resolution, because I think you catch a lot of cool details when it's larger.

You only added one eyebrow.
Why only one?
