I didn't realize it then, but the way the film is shot, in addition to the sound, is like a Hitchcock/60s thriller. It feels like it could've been filmed thirty years before it actually was.

Indeed. Marty himself is a Hitch lover. He actually pops up on the Vertigo DVD to gush over the film. And since Vertigo is my #2 all time, its just another reason for me to love Marty. Thing is, unlike De Palma, a Hitchcock wannabe if there ever was one, Scorsese actually has the talent to pull it off.

Yeah, it's really cool. If it wasn't for the 90s film stock, it could totally be mistaken for a Hitchcock movie.

I anticipate the coming of zombie Hitchcock. Make it happen, science!

I think I'm the only guy that used to imagine stuff like, "What if Hitchcock directed... [enter movie here]" for hours on end. My favorite was, "What if Hitchcock directed RoboCop."

I really miss the non-shitty De Niro. :(
I also miss the level of quality The Simpsons were at when they made "Cape Feare".
dagnabit! Now I'm depressed.

:lol
The movie made me remember good Simpsons too. :-\

Julliette Lewis was perfect in that movie.
