I haven't tried either one yet. I am going to buy (ask my mom to buy) some later next time I (she) goes shopping.
I am on a quest to find foods that are as easy to prepare as all the shit I eat but not as unhealthy (see: Ramen Noodles)
-
Campbell's Select are decent too. Apparently the ingredients are better than what is in Chunky or something, but I really don't notice a difference. I buy whatever is cheapest at the time.

Progresso = Adult Soup. The Velveta of the Mac and Cheese world. Its real good. I love the Wild Rice ones.
The best soup ever made though is the Tortellini Soup by Campbell's. My local grocer doesn't stock them anymore though :-\
-
Does it make any difference if I microwave this shit vs. cooking it on the stove?
-
Nope, I haven't noticed any difference and I'm real picky when it comes to microwaving vs. stove top. Soup is flexible like that.
-
Canned soup is super high in sodium.
-
Progresso is the way to go. But the Campbells Chicken Tortila Select rocks.
-
Matzoh ball soup ftw.
-
My favorite is chicken noodle soup with a soda on the side.
-
You know, out of all the soups I've ever tried, Stater Bros. branded "CHUNKY Hearty Vegetable" soup is my favorite. No foolin'.
I also like Campbell's Tomato Soup (to go with grilled cheese sandwiches), and Anderson's Split Pea soup.

progresso just came out with some reduced sodium varieties. 50% less, which i guess is still more than you probably need, but better than before, at least.

I like how they always put the amount of bad stuff per serving on the Nutrition Facts label, but then at the top in small print is "Servings Per Container 2" ... GTFO. I'm eating the whole can of soup!

Who are these people that determine serving sizes - the Olsen twins?

Hahaha yes.

Yeah. Kraft dinner serves four? OKAY YEAH. I can eat a large poutine afterwards.

Maybe you can get onion soup in a can, but I don't know hwo you'd get French onion in a can. The bread would be horrid and I don't want to imagine what would happen to the cheese.
I do love me some canned pasta, though. Spaghettio's FTW!

Better question, who makes the best clam chowder?

French onion usually is just the onions broth and booze with cheese flavor added but taken out so you put your own bread and cheese in it out of the can. They used to sell this flash frozen version with the cheese and bread with soup on the bottom. You just added a little cognac to it and you were good to heat her up in a pot.

I'm a big soup guy ... Progresso tastes better to me. I love their Wedding Soup.
