the game is very awesome. you build your own city looks like, you can capture enemies (you can learn spells this way) forge weapons, the music is awesome and the whole puzzle+rpg thing works really well.
Im certainly picking this one up, shame about no online MP but oh well should be an awesome single player experience.

We only told you about this earlier! PSP! Puzzle Quest!
-
yeah PSP version seems to be the superior one between the two handhelds.
-
I should be getting DS version for review, but I might buy PSP version just because it ROCKS
-
The PC demo looks like it has online multiplayer. At any rate, yeah, the PC demo is awesome, but there's not a release date or anything.
-
Does the DS version have wi-fi multiplayer?
I guess that really doesn't matter since I haven't figured out how to work the DS's wi-fi yet. :-\
-
No, both the PSP and DS have local multiplayer (DS-to-DS or PSP-to-PSP). The PSP is the way to go, in my opinion. I might get the PC version too, just because it's so damn pretty and it'll have online multiplayer.
-
I don't have a PSP. :'(
-
yeah, puzzle quest will make a great laptop game.
-
I may get it for PC so I can play on my laptop. I dunno. I fired up the demo this afternoon to see what the fuss is about and like two hours later was all, "OH GOD I AM NOT PACKING." So screw you guys!
-
ahua
it's a perfect laptop game. i kept the demo around just to muck with it some more.
this week, folks!

I just played through the demo for about 3 hours. It's a fun game, worth recommending, but it's not "stay up until 4am, soiling myself" fun like it could have been.
I think the main problem is that it centers all around ONE type of puzzle and only offers a variant of that puzzle when you try to capture a monster. Also, that one puzzle involves a lot of luck to be good. Especially, since you are alternating turns with the computer .. it takes out alot of the strategies of setting up your board for cascades. There is no sense of accomplishment when you hit a 5 combo .. it's almost 100% luck.
After playing Puzzle Pirates, it left me wishing this game was more like that game. Duels with opponents have seperate play boards. Each "task" has a different type of puzzle. Definitely adds variety to the game.
I will still buy the PC version when it comes out. Maybe once I get more spells/weapons/etc it will add some depth to the one puzzle game.
