Title: White boy scout found, makes front page of CNN; black girl missing, nobody cares

I really, really wish someone in the media would talk more about this.  Any white child goes missing and the world stands still.  They found some nerdy, white boy scout lost in the wilderness (http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/03/20/missing.scout/index.html) (who demanded a helicopter ride, no less!) and you would think that we won the War on Terror or something.  Furthermore, this little twerp was all over the news.

Meanwhile, a 13-year-old black girl has been missing following her mother's homicide last week (http://www.click2houston.com/news/11231839/detail.html&cid=0) and it was just now reported that a 15-year-old hispanic teenager went missing last week (http://1010wins.com/pages/311917.php?contentType=4&contentId=380295).  Where is the CNN and FOX News coverage there?

Same thing happened last year, and before that with the Elizibeth Smart thing. Black girl goes missing and eventually bites through the ropes and escapes, and it's not news. Smart is kidnapped, lives a few miles from her house...everyone cares.

I suppose it's not interesting to the world when it's merely "another statistic". White people, missing? In danger? AM I IN DANGER? ARE MY KIDS IN DANGER? IS THERE A BLACK RAPIST ON THE LOOSE?

What the hell? How long was the campout this kid was on? When I was 12 and in the scouts you couldn't go more than one night AND your dad had to be on the trip. They wouldn't let you go without your own father until you hit 14 I think.

BSA just continues to decline.
