Tubby had a phenomenal record at KY. So who cares about the NCAA? Didn't UK get the best fucking SEC regular season record in the history of the conference during his term? And, on top of that, he fucking won a national championship with the leftover players from Pitino's last two seasons, and if I remember correctly, it was people like Jeff Shepherd who weren't as fucking phenomenal as the people on the 96 championship and the 97 runners up squads.

No one gives Tubby any credit. It's still Tubby's fault, even though one of the best recruiting classes they had under him pretty much left for the NBA? What the fuck
The problem with Kentucky fans, besides the racism, is that they don't realize there's such a thing as luck, or a rebuilding season. This was obviously a rebuilding season for UK, but people still ragged on Tubby the entire time. I don't blame him for wanting to leave. The fucking fans in this state are obsessed and their standards for what a basketball team should be is way too high.
Duke or UNC doesn't win it every single year. UCLA hasn't won it for a while, and not at the frequency they passed up UK in the seventies with. They don't complain. Hell, wasn't there a year a while back where Duke Rupp fucking didn't win it every year. The facts are Tubby had a good run at UK, and he even had a national championship. Sure, he didn't fucking assemble the Justice League like Pitino in 96, but I haven't seen any other coach come up with a line up that good since.
Mike Krzyzewski won two games once as Duke's coach in the nineties. He's still Duke's coach. I haven't heard any bitching about that.
