After quietly amassing over $100 million, Ghost Rider is nowhere to be seen! :lol
1. TMNT/Warner Bros. (3,110) $8,600,000
2. 300/Warner Bros (3,200) $6,000,000
3. SHOOTER/Paramount (2,806) $4,750,000
4. WILD HOGS/Buena Vista (3,401) $4,000,000
5. THE HILLS HAVE EYES 2/Fox Atomic (2,447) $3,800,000
6. PREMONITION/ Sony (2,831) $3,200,000
7. THE LAST MIMZY/New Line (3,017) $2,750,000
8. REIGN OVER ME/Sony (1,671) $2,500,000
9. PRIDE/Lionsgate (1,518) $1,200,000
10. DEAD SILENCE/Universal (1,806) $1,100,000
So, TMNT is a real money maker and Warner Bros. has to be happy with how its first major films are faring at the box office. The Hills Have Eyes 2 performs like a low-budget, sub par horror sequel usually does. The Last Mimzy is a dud (sorry dude that plays Dwight from The Office). And Dead Silence was an appropriate title for a movie that nobody apparently saw.

YEAH! TURTLE POWER!!! TAKE THAT MAF!!!
-
Yeah at work today there was packed rooms for TMNT which is just crazy. And the audience is 20-28 year olds going and seing the movie not kids. If this is any indication of what this type of movie could bring in. Transformers is going to be racking in a shitload of money. Purely cause of the nestalga.
-
FUCK YEAH TMNT :stormrock
-
TMNT did better than expected, I expect WB to get a sequel out.
-
Warner Bros. FTW. Holy shit they must be BALLLLINNNNN :lol
300+TMNT=BALLLINNNN

I saw TMNT this afternoon, and it was really good.
-
MAF owned the turtle van, blimp, and technodrome and most of the pre-jumptheshark action figures (ie storing weapons in shells and turning into fucking sportscars)
This isnt an issue about me liking the turtles, its an issue about me watching the movies and realizing how fucking dumb it all is. Nostalgia needs to be left alone.

Bob Weinstein said "It's sequel time, dudes".
TMNT 5 in 2010(11?) it seems.

TMNT2 and 3 were shit. Nostalgia makes them "seem" good. TMNT1 was a pretty damn good movie though.
I'm not fond of the new TMNT myself, which is a minority opinion, but it seems that the Turtles *I* like is foreign to most people. They're mostly about the over the top and OMG COWABUNGA DUDES turtles, which are found in TMNT 2 and 3 and the old cartoon.

You may have not liked 3, but it had the hottest april....2 was a close one tho....the first movie's april was horrible and blech.
-
SHe was pretty ugly.

It's weekend total was not that impressive

For a $32 million budget and a dead franchise WB is pretty damn happy. WB's expectations were $20 million. They are starting the sequel already. By next friday the film will have already made back its budget.
-
Dead franchise? You do realize they revived the series with a new cartoon right?

I haven't seen it myself, but I know a lot of kids these days are familiar with it now because of the new one. I'm just happy that, unlike all the other things from my childhood that have been raped endlessly, the Turtles still remain the same.
The thing that killed the franchise was that god awful tv live action series on Fox Kids. The series has since become relevant again though, just not as popular as when we were kids.
-
I meant film wise. This movie will easily outdo it's budget and is gettng a sequel. It will also easily make more than TMNT II and III, and likely come close to TMNT I. They both had 25 million opening weekends.
