Its rocking my socks off. Any other 'Borers playing?
-
Cloud is.
-
TVC seems to really dig it. I'm gonna check it out next paycheck.
-
Definately do. As a Deux Ex/Fallout/Oblivion/HL2 fan, this game has my shooting in my pants frequently.

It was like first announced...I don't know, 2001? :lol It's changed many many times, but it's a very adventure-driven FPS. Haven't read too much about it, but it seems really rad.

i'm not playing

ive been waiting for a good evilbore review before looking into it. I hear it rocks peoples video cards hard though
-
After Cooking Mama Wii left me high and dry...I think this is my next game.
Athlon 64 3200+ @ 2GHz | 2GB ram | Radeon 9800XT = too slow? Amazon lists Intel and Geforce specs, I don't know how it all compares.
--------
STALKER System Requirements:
Windows ME, 2000, XP, 98
1.5 GB Pentium III processor
512 MB RAM
DX 9.1 included; DX 8.1 compatible
GF3 64 MB video
DX 8.1-compatible sound card
-
Thats pretty much my computer with a slightly slower graphics card, and my computer runs everything great so far.
-
You should be alright. Basically my system specs, but I have a better video card.
-
Thanks! I will go get it today.
-
After the game froze a second time, I had my boyfriend look at it - the BIOS said my CPU temp was 89 degrees. STALKER is overheating the computer :( All fans are on and working, not much I can do about it.
Oh well, game seemed interesting too.
-
Wait, what? Its more like an adventure FPS? I didn't have my eye on this game at all but after I finish Puzzle Quest..this will probably be the next thing I jump on.
-
the 9800XT's pretty slow. ditch it and nab a GeForce 7600GS or a Radeon X1600XT.
-
I picked up STALKER, good job you jerks.
-
impressions good sir
-
Once I get home from WORK good sir.
-
I'm gonna go try and play it on my grandparents computer. Along with C&C3, hope I didnt waste money. But stalker was cheap and so was C&C3 this week.

Thanks to S.T.A.L.K.E.R. overheating my computer, I decided to go buy a new one tonight. My boy is building it for me now!!! :) :)
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 - 2.4ghz - 1066 FSB - 4MB L2 Cache
2GB DDR2 PC6400 800Mhz
ATI Radeon X1950 XTX 512MB
...plus a new Asus board and tower.
I'll show that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. bitch who's boss tomorrow!
-
How much Melissa? Thats a nice little setup. I wanna build another pc.
-
Your boy? lol

Just under $1200 for this stuff.
-
Frys? Thats not a bad deal. I wouldnt mind putting that much up for something like that. Processor was a good chunk of that probably.
-
As TVC told me earlier today, the dynamic lighting as it exists, kills performance outright. It looks nice but god damn.
I also blame nvidia's bullshit drivers for vista.
-
MAF: play with OBJECT dynamic lighting. Its the happy medium between the shitty static lighting and the fuckawesome-but-performance-killing FULL dynamic lighting. Thats how Im playing, and its looking great.
-
They talked about this on the 1up show. It sounded fucking awesome where they basically summarized it as "if you can figure out how to make a computer to run this and patch it than it shouldn't matter that it throws you into the game with very little of any tutorial" but I heard the glitches were pretty big. How well has it been running for you?
-
Solo: The patch cleared a lot up. Pre-patch the game ran shit with object lighting even.
-
I havent patched yet, and wont until I beat it - I dont wanna lose my progress.
-
The patch fixed some performance issues, dunno what the cause was. Also, any tips for getting started. Games pretty challenging.
-
Its hard at first. Until you get some decent gear, weapons and artifacts, you really have to pick your battles.
You can get a STALKER suit in the first village though, if youre interested. Climb up the ladder beside Wolf, immediately turn left or right and shimmy around onto the roof. Then run and jump onto the lower roof of the next building. Once on that roof, walk around to the far end and look in the tiny hole. Youll see a crate. Shoot it, and grab the suit. That should help you.
-
nice thanks!
-
No problemo.
