Cheebs answered for me. Although I am starting to slow down. Not because I love movies any less, but because Ive already got about 400 that I havent watched more than once, so it doesnt make much sense for me to keep buying as many.

You distinguished mentally-challenged fellows love to buy shit you don't even like. I saw your DVD list Jacob. It had stuff on there that you've said was meh, but you bought it.
I only buy movies that I really like and can watch multiple times. That's why I didn't rush out and buy Bond just because it came out. How many of you people bought X-Men 3? I know White Man did, and he doesn't even like the movie. tsk tsk
Note: I didn't buy Naria; it was a Christmas gift.
-
I own X-Men 3 because I owned the first two.

I don't own any movies I don't like.

You guys have done more to support bad media than I ever have :lol
BTW when you move in with me are you going to bring the DVDs, and can I come in your room and borrow them whenever I please?

I agree with PhoenixDark for once. Considering we live in a time where there are movies constantly on cable, I see no reason to purchase mediocre films. I own about 50 or so films, and every single one of 'em (save for a few) have been watched more than once. If I don't consider a film spectacular, but own it, chances are it's because it has some shining technical merits that warrants a purchase. But I prefer a small, intimate film library than some gargantuan personal movie store. People with more than 100 or so DVDs rarely watch them all and usually have a bunch of stinkers just because they can.

Willco...FTW? YES
I know a couple people who own 400-500 movies, and it just doesn't make sense to me. I remember arguing with my friend about how John Q was an enjoyable movie despite its flaws, and he kept railing on and on about how horrible it was. The next I was looking through his movies and guess what I see: John Q. And XXX. And X-Men 3. Basically all the movies he can't stand.
Yes having a DVD collection is a hobby, but remember a hobby is something that you enjoy doing. Enjoying having a DVD collection and enjoying buying mediocre/bad movies just to inflate it seems contradictory to me.
All the movies I have (except Naria and Temple of Doom) are movies I can watch many times and enjoy. This is key to be because I have a very short attention span with respect to electronic entertainment; I might love watching or listening to something for a month, and then I won't touch it for the rest of the year. I can watch the beginning of Goodfellas or The Departed all the time, and I love watching the extras on the Sin City and LOTR disks.
King Kong...eh. I just wish it was edited better :( :( :(

:lol
Like I'd want you to live with me. But lets see you get a better rate
-
you would want me if you thought there was a chance I'd move in
-
Eh, I buy a shitload of movies so that whenever I'm bored I can randomly pull out a movie and watch them. They dont all have to be omgsoawesome good, but I do like every movie I own and when I'm bored, I can always find something to watch no matter what my mood is.
Not to mention, chicks dig it.
-

Will you take classes with me, or eat lunch with me? :(
-

Really? I always get "You must live in your room." and not in a good impressed way.

Will you take classes with me, or eat lunch with me, or let me cum on your balls you weak white man? :(
I fixed it for you because I know your true intentions.

Well, I think part of it might be that I don't have my TV in my room :lol But most of them like having a big selection of movies to choose from, and it doesn't hurt that I like chick flicks :heartbeat

I'll be commuting for a semester(fall) and after that my parents will be buying me an apartment near campus. Why move in when I get my own place for free?
-
I have less than 20 I think.

You didn't answer my question. Will you take classes with me if possible, and eat lunch with me? :(
-
I put in over 600, but I'm not sure if box sets count as one DVD or multiples. I have a few box sets for TV shows and stuff.
-
I have like 10. :( I just got a DVD player this past Christmas, and we just got one for my house the Christmas before that.
I think I only have like 3 DVDs that aren't gifts from James lol.
-
WELL APPARENTLY JAMES NEEDS TO BUY MORE DVDS!
