Title: What do sizes mean!!!!!! (coats)

Size: S(35-36) M(37-39) L(40-42) XL(43-45) 2XL(46-48)

How does this work? Are these inches? I'm not familiar with how Americans work with sizes for clothes.

Most of those sizes are predicated on the width of your shoulders. If you are someone that has broad shoulders, then you need to upsize.

Even at 190lbs, I was wearing a 42/43 (it was loose in the waist).  Now at 215 lbs I still wear a 43 (now it's snug in the waist).
