Title: My family dog is dying of cancer
Post by: The Fake Shemp on March 30, 2007, 03:59:51 PM: Just got the call that my father and estranged stepmother's dog, Bandit, is dying from cancer. My sister is terribly crushed, and this all appears to be rather sudden. He started losing weight real quick within the past two weeks. He's got a bunch of fluid in his abdomen and his liver is shot. They've set him up comfortably in the basement, but if he stops moving altogether or eating food, they're going to put him down.

He was my first, real family dog. I remember when we got him from the pound, they called him Bandit and my family was trying to think up a name for him. They all sucked, so I was like, "Let's just call him Bandit." :lol

They have another dog, Jin, who they got as a playmate for Bandit years ago. She apparently is being pretty anxious and such, like she knows something is wrong. We got her because we're all gone during the day, so we wanted another dog for him to play with and engage him. It's going to be terribly lonely for her for a bit.
