-
Still havent watched Wonder Boys :/

-
I watched Transporter 2 cause it was on Cinemax InDemand.
The first was better, imo.
-
Both Transporter movies were subpar action flicks. I'm hoping CRANK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! doesn't fall into that category... :punch :punch :punch

I'm really surprised you're hyped for Crank if you didn't think either Transporter 1 or 2 were good.
Personally, I thought the first one was pretty good, but I never saw the second.
-
I thought they were subpar, not horrible. But Crank seems to be taking the genre in a different direction than either of those movies did, and its probably for the better.
PLUS WHO DOESN'T WANT TO SEE JASON STATHAM DRIVE THROUGH A CROWDED MALL, AMIRITE?! :punch

I'm watching the Godfather. I forgot how much Marlon Brando could OWN when he wanted to.

So far I'm enjoying it, but I'm having that problem that people have when watching, say, Psycho for the first time: I've seen so many movies and shows that either lampoon or are heavily derived from the Godfather that I could practically guess what the next scene will be. I've also noted that certain characters in the Sopranos and Goodfellas appear to have gotten their jobs simply be visually resembling people in the Godfather.
Also, according to IMDB, Alain Delon was up for the role of Michael.

Correct on all counts. One of the biggest problems with watching the film these days :(
-
I found out when I was a kid that Darth Vader was Luke's father from The Simpsons. :lol
But I know what you mean White Man. The movie ingrained itself in our popular culture so much that it's impossible for the film to have anything close to its original effect.

I'm guessing the Alain thing is some fanboy's bullshit dream, because Alain has never been in an english language movie. I doubt he can even speak english well enough to play a native speaker.

By saying he was "up for the role", they probably mean some overzealous producer wanted to cast him and then five minutes later changed his mind (for the reasons you stated, maybe?).

Either way, whether Alain was up for the role or not, Al Pacino is absolutely marvelous as Michael. I think Dog Day Afternoon is really the only other movie I like him in. Scarface is fun, but that's hardly any sort of measured performance.
