So I rented Running Scared this weekend because everything else was rented at Blockbuster. I immediately walked in with super low expectations when I saw Paul Walker on the cover (he's cinematic cancer), but I gave it a flier because Wayne Kramer's last movie (The Cooler) was pretty enjoyable.
In short, this film was a blast. Not amazing, but it moves with a sense of urgency at a breakneck pace. It has hookers and crooked cops and mobsters and creepy pedophiles and pimps and everything.
I will say that this has a very admirable sense of style and some of the shots, from a technical perspective, are nothing short of amazing. Wayne Kramer has proved to me he's a guy to look out for.
Definitely worth a rental.

You might be interested in that ocean movie Walker is in. I hear he takes his shirt off in it.

No, if I wanted to watch a homoerotic film, I'd watch Superman Returns!

its one fucked up modernday fairytale think of it as alice in wonderland or maybe red ridding hood. I love the graphic novel too so it was no surprise i loved the movie.

At least Superman lived in the same city as his girlfriend.

Yep, I really enjoyed Running Scared. Wasn't expecting much so I was really surprised. Rented it and watched it twice.

My favorite guilty pleasure of 2006. Destined to be a cult classic.

Is The Rock in this movie?
-
No, why would The Rock be in it?
-
I always get this mixed up with Walking Tall. Dammit

Fuck that shit.

Fuck you, Running Scared 4 L1F3

First SoaP, now Running Scared? You're beginning to worry me, Willco. :(
-
Did you even see Running Scared? Solo liked it and he's a cinematic beacon. As for SoaP, your problem is that you have no friends.

:'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(
I've seen about half of Running Scared, and both my friend (who had rented it) and I had to turn it off and watch something else. Namely, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, a much better film.
And its not my fault none of my friends wanted to see SoaP, and apparently no one in my town did either. :'(

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is a better film. I didn't call Running Scared a classic, but it's pretty frickin' fun.
