Title: Terrible 80's Fantasy Movie Appreciation: Krull Edition
Post by: Human Snorenado on April 07, 2007, 04:21:36 AM
It's on right now, and oh man let me tell you that as an insomniac this is AWESOME.  It was either that or tepid 80's sexcapade "The Allnighter" with Susanna Hoffs, which while it SOUNDS great is certainly NOT.

But Krull, man.  What a terrible movie.  Generic hero, generic villain.  What makes it watchable at all is the absurdity of the situation:  the hero needs to rescue his bitch, so he rounds up a bunch of people to help him desperately assault an impenetrable castle that changes it's location every day.  What is the motivation of these idiots?  They're not getting anything out of helping the guy.  Basically they're a bunch of disposable human shields helping the dude get his bitch back, with little to no help of survival.

Oh, the main character also had that awesome Glaive weapon that was basically some sort of bullshit telekinetically controlled throwing star:

lolz.  Oh, and there was a cyclops, too.

Krull was great as a kid, it has aged worse then most movies from that era. Oh my god is it horrible.
