Trying to make a list of games to eventually pick up that I missed in the past half year or so... here is what I have so far
DS:
Magical Starsign
Contact
Dragon Quest: Rocket Slime
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Blue
Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin
Lunar Knights
Yoshi's Island DS
Hotel Dusk
Children of Mana
(alternate solution: buy a flashcart)
GBA:
Final Fantasy VI Advance
X360:
Burnout Revenge
Saints Row
Tetris Evolution
PS2:
Tales of the Abyss
Valkyrie Profile: Silmeria
Rogue Galaxy
GCN:
Zelda Twilight Princess
Baten Kaitos Origins
Batallion Wars
Xbox:
Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning
Throw some titles out there that I may have forgotten that would catch my eye based off what I have so far, and I'd rather you keep your opinion on the current list to yourself.
-
Why can't we comment on the list!? Maybe we could prevent you from buying some games you might not enjoy!
-
Because I don't care what you enjoy.
-
do you care about what i enjoy?
-
It is hard to make suggestions when we don't know what you already have.

Take a guess.

do you care about what i enjoy?
Not really, no.
-
magical starsign and contact are serious no-nos
-
I want to play them. So am I missing any notables or is this it? I would figure I was missing some PS2 titles that passed by. I think this list I have so far will fill out nicely. I'm probably gonna go pick up the new Spyro on the way back home, since Gaz was the Lead Designer. He also put a certain duo in the game, and I want to find them. It's also BC with X360, I just hope it's not glitchy or broken in some way.
:meeble
-
TMNT for 360.
Get Shrek 3 as well when that is out in May.
-
No way, those are rentals. I'm talking about buying these things. What kind of game is Shrek 3? I will rent it if the achievements are easy.
-
God of War 2? I'm drawing a blank.
I started to play Contact but got bored a little ways into it. I didn't really give it a fair chance though, I'm going to come back to it eventually.
-
I picked up God of War 2 in Chicago, let my bearfriend borrow it so he can send it my way when he is done.
-
You're getting Pokemon Mystery Dungeon? Might as well get Izuna also.
Maybe you should try out Spectrobes. :lol
-
Izuna is lame, I like Pokemon. They're so cute. I saw videos of Spectrobes, I thought it would be 2D but its this really bad 3D something or other.
-
Bah.
Spectrobes is ugly though, but a few people at GAF seem to think that it's decent and my little cousin called me earlier to tell me how great it is. He's only 12 though.
-
Because I don't care what you enjoy.
I'm talking about what YOU enjoy.
For example, Tales of the Abyss. I'm playing this right now (or I was until I took a break from it). Conceptually great, it's got a whole bunch of flaws that are preventing me from enjoying it, including the horribly buggy field map, the annoying loading time between battles, and the constant, CONSTANT backtracking. You go to one place, then go to another place, then go back to to the first place, then go to another place, then BACK TO THE FIRST PLACE AGAIN EVEN IF IT'S JUST FOR FIVE LINES OF DIALOGUE. Artificially stretching the gametime...not fun at all.
But hey, you didn't want any comments on your list...just trying to help you out, though!

I'm really tolerant on what I can play. I present my Gamertag as evidence -- http://profile.mygamercard.net/demifish
Just because you cannot stomach it does not mean I won't. I'd like to try a game before I write it off.
Right now I am playing Legend of Heroes 2 on my PSP. Still.

Rent before you buy. I've played and finished other Tales games (Tales of Phantasia, Tales of Destiny II/Eternia, Tales of Symphonia), and yet I'm seriously considering abandoning Tales of the Abyss. It's just that frustrating. It's sad because at its core it's a good game...it was just never meant to be a PS2 game and suffers from the conversion. I would be able to deal with the constant backtracking (the game's biggest flaws) if traveling through the field map/battles were at least enjoyable. As it is, waiting what seems like an eternity at the end of every battle frustrates me to no end. As do paths being invisibly blocked off in the field map.

I don't like to rent RPGs.

I don't like to rent RPGs.
Rent it, keep a save, and then buy it and keep playing...y'don't have to finish it with a rental.
I dunno, you'd be better off buying something like Disgaea 2.
-
I'm not feeling SRPGs right now, Disgaea is coming to PSP anyway. For free. Tsc tsc.
I just don't like to rent RPGs, if I don't like it, I can trade it off or sell it at a small loss.

For free? How so?
-
I download PSP games. I got my PSP for free, so I figured I'd even it out by getting the games for free too.

Oh, piracy. I was wondering if there was some sorta deal going on where if you bought PS2 Nippon Ichi games you got a discount or something. :P
I wasn't even aware that PSP Disgaea was getting a US localization. As I understand it, it has absolutely no extra content. I don't see the point...
-
Well, I never played the PS2 version, and I can take the PSP with me.
-
do you care about what i enjoy?
Not really, no.
why not

Send cloud her games she paid for and I'll tell you.

Robby has that. I have a demo. It stanks.
Robby is sending me Saints Row to play, so I dont need to buy that.
Other friend is letting me borrow Tetris, don't need that now.
Gonna buy Burnout from a guy on CAG for $20, don't need that now.

I think it depends on what you're looking for in it. The god awful, unresponsive A.I. makes it absolutely one of the worst strategy games ever made, but if you're just looking to run around with a bunch of soldiers and vehicles and shit and blow stuff up, it's pretty fun. Then again, if that's all you want, you should probably just play Mercenaries.
-
It's like $5.
-
The AI is perfectly good once you learn the tricks to manipulating it. And $5! What a bargain.
