Title: Any of you guys use VMWare?
Post by: Ecrofirt on April 10, 2007, 01:55:50 AM
I'm testing out VMWare Player now with a Ubuntu distro I found (6.10 Edgy - http://www.vmware.com/vmtn/appliances/directory/693).

I'm stumbling around trying to figure it out as I don't really know my way around Linux well at all. I'm definitely liking some of what's going on here, though so it's cool.

Anyhow, any of you guys run setups like this? I'm trying to figure out what, if anything, I can do to get sound enabled and get my screen resolution past the 800x600 limit it seems stuck at now.

(edit: And is there anything I can do to get my scrollwheel on my mouse enabled?)

Write your own drivers and recompile the kernel?

I was going to post in this thread and be like "James was toying with that program on his PC tonight while I was at his house! You can use it to run LINUX on a Windows machine!"

But then I saw that he's the one who started the thread. And now I'm sad.
