With a friend's new 360, he rented Lost Planet on my suggestion. I saw all the commercials and figured it would be a nice 3rd person shooter with eye-pleasing environments. LOL. Nevermind that an hour or two into the game it turns into garbage. I knew the game involved mechs, but I didn't think that's all you would end up doing. Clunky controls, ugly scenery (aside from the snow :)), and the English dub had some of the worst voice acting I've heard since FFX. It reminded me of MGS: Sons of Liberty in that the whole time it was hard to discern whether I was watching a movie or playing a game. The bad part is it was never even good enough to keep my attention; I still have no clue what the hell the game was about. And why the fuck did nearly every boss resemble a giant mutated crab that grew tentacles? Why is GAF circle jerking over this shit? I never did try the multiplayer on XBL, but I'm assuming if I didn't like the single player, that would not have been much more enjoyable.
Gears shat all over this.

Yeah, it's really not that good. Dead Rising makes my dick hard.
DMC4 coming though, mmmm.
-
Oops, I forgot to mention it felt like they'd spent a whole 20 minutes on developing the arsenal of weapons you're given. The only imaginative thing out of all that was the grenade launcher.
-
The funniest part is when the game goes Zone of the Enders. It's like - wow, last minute decision?
You go in thinking it is some action game, but it's like distinguished mentally-challenged Gundam. I dunno what I was playing.

That's pretty much how I felt. I think I played it through on Normal. Whoever the hell the last guy was you were supposed to kill pretty much just floated there as you whipped his ass with your giant sword that could probably cut Earth in half. That made me lol.

Last boss sucked. Not a bad rental though, overall.

*shrug*
It was fun. I enjoyed the single player, and the multiplayer has been a blast too, depsite the game's issues. The only thing I wasn't too fond of was the last level, but it was short and over quickly anyway. After you fight that GIGANTIC boss earlier on, I expected more from the end.

Oh come on. You guys love boring ass Dead Rising but hate Lost Planet. Lame.
-
I thought it was okay. The grapple reminded me of a new-fangled Bionic Commando.
Felt like a FPS by Capcom. *shrug*
I would like more variety on my 360, though. Or at least BC for Phantom Dust!
-
God damn I want BC Phantom Dust, but I fear ol MS has given up on BC since Sony is about to.

Having played both to completion, yeah.
-
didn't you say the only multiplayer of lost planet you played was one-on-one matches with cloud to get all the achievements?
-
Yep, but I played some regular games too trying to get up to Level 50, but gave up when I found it would take a while. Tried Extreme Mode, got handed at the first boss, and just sent it back to the rental place.
What does multi have to do with it? I played both SP campaigns to the end. Lost Planet was a turd.
Let's compare gamertags if you are so unsure.

how much was it like the single player demo because that was awesome.
-
I didn't play it but people say the multiplayer is much better.
You use a mech too much in that and you'll just get your ass handed to you.
