I tried to watch Children of Men high a few weeks ago. It didn't happen. Hardest movie I've ever attempted to follow non-sober.

I dunno children of men wasnt that hard to follow, it just wasnt that engaging, and the only reasons it made me think were because its essentially an incomplete story.

I don't think you realize just critically huge Unforgiven was when it swept the oscars. It wasn't some random  type of win ala Crash. It was unanimously seen as the greatest film that year, you giving it a 6/10 goes against what basically everyone felt. Unforgiven isn't some random movie with fans like The Prestige.

This isn't the first time a critically acclaimed movie swept the Oscars and gained universal praise. So why are you singling me out when you guys hate on so many "critically acclaimed" movies as well?

Million Dollar swept the Oscars and got universal praise (and a 92% on RT). Do you automatically love it? I thought so

Comparing Unforgiven to Million Dollar Baby is ridiculous. :lol

Phoenix Dark, give it up!  You're a joke!

I'm not comparing them on the surface though. I'm just saying both got universal praise and swept the Oscars. Why am I a fool for declaring Unforgiven to be bad, yet you guys can call Million Dollar Baby bad? This is with respect to Cheebs' comment that oh it got a lot of praise so you have to love it or whatever

Unforgiven is one of my favorite movies ever, and my favorite Western ever. Even the treaty of the prestige cannot save this alliance!

I bet you hated Wonder Boys too. I bet you hate ALL of my favorite movies.

Million Dollar Baby comparison isn't AT ALL similar. Many wanted The Aviator to win and MDB was not the unanimous movie of the year by basically everyone. MDB was a a random good film to win an oscar. Unforgiven was a giant crtical darling that comes along very rarely.

Well, then my opinion is valid, because Unforgiven is awesome.

Not only did I find Children of Men to have an engaging story, but it had fucking AWESOME cinematography.

This troll Children of Men thread is just another case of Evilborians finding a good movie to bash because they want to increase the sizes of their ePenises.

Most people here actually liked the movie. But it's a case of people not wanting to agree on anything with me . If I had bashed the movie you better bet yer ass Triumph and Am Nintenho would be in here. But considering I like it, no one cares :-\

i don't even hate the movie! i just think it's beautiful but dumb. i am quite happy to own it -- unlike most of you binary-thinkin' chimpies, i can like something and still criticize the fuck out of it.

Hm I'm going to read your review than type up my own.

I would definitely consider buying it, along with The Prestige. Knowing me I won't do it for a few more months
