I'm still trying to keep my hopes up about it, BTW, as bad as all the trailers make it look.

Very bad.  All the emo overtones in the trailer were just the appetizer of lameness to the film's main course of despair.

I mean, not to mention, it'll feature 3 villians and Venom gets little screen time? Disappointment total al fucking ready.

I'm actually considering not going on opening day - the trailers have been that disappointing. After LOTR the Spiderman movies became the only theater "events" I looked forward to; I skipped class and everything to see Spiderman 2 and had a blast from beginning to end. Here...I don't know. I don't like the idea of "emo" Peter, I don't like the Venon cameo, I don't like the whole "THIS is the real killer" twist, I don't like Harry's costume, and I certainly don't like some of the more disgusting quotes from the trailer ("the power....it feels good"). :-\

At the same time I don't want to not see it and then make a decision based on what GAF/EB says. I don't know what I'm going to do

I'll be seeing it opening night, but fuck it's going to be horrible.

We'll need a Spiderman Starts in a few years.  :(

The bad:
The New Goblin's costume
The fact that they're calling him "New Goblin"
Uncle Ben's REAL killer is a supervillain to fight in this movie
Sandman isn't one of the better known of Spiderman's rogues to me
All the emoness and bad lines from the trailer.
Probably some more I'm not thinking of

The Good:
I'm kind of glad that they're introducing the black suit before having full on Venom
It's Spiderman, and the first two movies were pretty good.

edit: the only good part of Superman Returns was when he stopped the plane crash. That was a pretty good sequence.
