1.First, though I bet I already know the answer to this, as a kid did(does) everyone have a notion that they wanted to do something great when they were older? Second and more importantly, when and how does that dream die? Does it ever fully leave you?
2. Name a short term goal and a long term goal you have - both have to be for your own personal happiness and not out of necessity.
Go!

I wanted to be a pro baseball player when I was like eight years old. However I could never hit anything, so that dream died pretty fast. I also wanted to be a writer. However I can't write well, so that dream died too.
Short term
lose weight
get a job
get into law school

My dream as a kid was to make movies. I loved going to the theater and I wanted to be the guy who told the stories that I loved to see (i.e., the director). Of course, living where I was I realized that was a goal I was never likely to accomplish, so I switched to a more realistic one, and I'm happy doing what I'm doing and where I'm at right now. I do get kinda wistful when I wonder "what if", though.

hey now 99% of the people that do write can't really write.
also is law school and job really for personal happiness or would it just make you happy because your fulfilling necessity.

yes but thats what I'm saying, money only makes you happy because its a necessity.

I don't expect to be happy, ever. I'd rather be rich and miserable than be poor and miserable. I can then afford better alcohol.

:lol
have you ever watched black books? it might suit you.

1. I wanted to be in the NBA like any self respecting black man
2.
Short term goal: I want to ace my three upcoming finals. To do this I need study my ass off. Today I almost got 3 hours in on my law test, and tomorrow I'm gonna do 6 more. This weekend I'm going to study for my math and econ tests. If I can ace all these tests I'll be able to put myself in a good position.
Long term goal: I want to really hit the gym and get in shape. By the Fall semester (September) I want to be buffed up a bit. Nothing fancy, but I just want to have broader shoulders, bigger arms, and get rid of this slight pot belly. I start in May, so this summer I should be in shape enough to really own in the African Cup. :punch
