by Michal Birecki on 17/04/2007 Views: 25824
In news that is sure to rock the gaming world it has been confirmed that Final Fantasy XIII, the blockbuster RPG highly anticipated by millions of fans of the series, will not be an exclusive game for the PlayStation 3 console.
The Final Fantasy XIII project as of right now consists of two games for the PlayStation 3 as well as a mobile game. Motomu Toriyama of Square Enix has come out and made the confirmation that other consoles will be receiving Final Fantasy XIII on top of the PlayStation 3.

Whoops. Too bad the game looks like shit, but wow another nail in the ps3 coffin.

He said that other systems will be getting Fabula Crystallis Nova Final Fantasy XIII titles, like how the PS3 is getting FFXIII and FFVersusXIII, and Final Fantasy Agito XIII going to mobile phones. No confirmation of FFXIII for Xbox 360 whatsoever.
I'm guessing it's referring to another side story title coming out on either the DS or Wii, honestly.

He didn't say anything within Fabula Crystallis Nova, he said FFXIII, unless the article is completely misconstrued. That should be expected given the confusing handling of the entire project.

That website took an article talking about seeing Fabula Crystallis Nova projects on multiple consoles and misinterpreted it. As of now, FFXIII is still PS3 exclusive.
And besides, if it were true, you'd be hearing about it on bigger websites than ps3center.net

In Other words, Toriyama says that Fabula Nova Crystallis Final Fantasy XIII won't be a PS3 and Handy exclusive series.

This is still pretty big news. It's the first main line FF game to be exclusive to...various consoles. I'm expecting at least every piece of hardware to get some part of FFXIII.

It's not the first time: Final Fantasy XII on the PS2 and FFXII: Revenant Wings on the DS.
This has been known for quite some time. We knew about Final Fantasy Agito XIII at the same time that FFXIII was announced, people are just running with whatever they can since "oh teh noes PS3 is teh doomed."

Ah yes. I forgot about FFXII: RW.
DM: You actually count cell phone games...? I never count cell phone games.

It's part of the Fabula Crystallis Nova FFXIII project, I count it because it helped suggest that the project would encompass multiple formats. And actually, I hope Agito comes out on the DS, too. It looks kinda neat.
Until I hear that FFXIII mainline is heading to another system other than the PS3, this is hardly groundbreaking news.

The way the article says it is that it's on multiple consoles.
-
If FFXIII remains on PS3 only I wonder if it will hurt square as bad as the movie did seeing how PS3 is a complete failure so far in America and Japan. I really wonder what is going through Square's mind when they see the pitful sales in America/Japan.

this really sounded like the cellphone game was coming to DS or something. that article is totally misconstruing the statement. not saying it won't happen, but, uh, not so true yet.
