The new cut even though its only 8 minutes improves the film a pretty decent amount from every review I have seen. A lot of it is character dialouge moments.

dialogue is exactly what we DON'T WANT from a comic book movie, and especially a Spider-Man one! the dialogue and character development in those movies is redundant and aggravating.

Nah, Sam Raimi forewarned everybody before the first DVD release of Spider-Man 2 that there was going to be a "X-Men 1.5-like release" since there was extra footage on the cutting room floor.  He even said Sony would probably release it prior to Spidey 3, since he already was going ahead with that project.

What pissed me off about the Cake Lady situation is that Peter used to worship someone from afar too, and he appreciated being recognized, but the CAKE LADY SCENE shows just how fucking oblivious he is to everything but his own problems.

I don't blame him if he's a bit oblivious - he only has to battle super villains that are kicking the crap out of him, while juggling college, trying to stop M.J. from marrying his boss' son, not let his relationship with his best friend fall apart on account that his father was a homicidal maniac and PLUS, his suit makes his crotch itchy.
