I think of all the 00's movies to take me back to the good old action days of the 90s, its Terminator 3.

I was going to include the 80's but that wouldn't be fair, it would win too easily.

Ah the 80s

You lost me when you put up Matrix 2 and 3 and the new Star Wars movies and shit. I don't know why you didn't put Kill Bill and Pulp Fiction on there and it's lacking a lot of better blockbuster Hollywood titles. I went with the 90's.

Matrix movies, as much as I love em, are largely fancy dance wire-fu. IMO the action movie died with the 90s, with Terminator 3 being a bit of a nostalgia trip.

How did the action movie die in the 90's?  Kill Bill 1 is a pretty good action flick. LotR has awesome action. As much as I hate Matrix 2, it's action is WOW. What do you want from action movies?

So long as we have a Michael Bay, dumb, big-budget action films will never say "die."

Uh, this list blows.  The 90s easily had way better cinema, without trying.

Kill Bill isn't an action movie, its more crap fu. AMERICAN action movies are about guns and explosions and brawling.

True action films (like Diehard) died out in the 90's. I hope theres a new wind when it comes to movies like that.

None of those were summer blockbusters. I am talking mainstream action films out during may-august

At least can all agree that the 80's trumps them all by a large margin.

The 80s were a genre purist's wet dream.

Which is why they weren't included obviously lol. 80's would easily beat both, as would the 70's possibly(star wars + jaws).

70s wasnt really about ACTION like the 80s was tho.

The 80s weren't even about action as it was just the decade about everything; arguably some of the best horror, fantasy, science-fiction, action and adventure films come from this time period.  It even still had the R-rated comedy.

I think it's because imagination was allowed to roam wild and physical effects were pretty advanced.  Most of the stuff pioneered and used in the 80s is still used today, although the advent of CG has downsized that kind of work.

The 90s were much more cynical.  The 00s seem much more polished, but bombastic and recycled.

00's feel like a companion piece of the 80's even though obviously quality wise it does not match at all. The birth(rebirth in a way) of super hero movies has a distinct 80's blockbuster quality as do the nostalgia of 80's franchises causing many of them to return (Rocky, Die Hard, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, etc).

co-sign

That 00's list is pretty disgraceful overall. But then again Cheebs, why did you include BATMAN FOREVER in the 90's option? Didn't you know that movie never existed, nor did Batman and Robin?

90's wins for Terminator alone, although the addition of The Matrix/Mission Impossible/With a Vengence make it even more unfair lol
