Title: BF2 + expansions, BF2142 or BF1942?

I'm not sure what version to get, not just because of the amount of people online, but I remember reading that BF2 was full of cheaters. I can get BF2 with 3 (all?) the expansions for the same price of BF2142, so it does seem like a good deal if the online is fine. I can also buy BF1942 cheaper, but it doesn't seem to come with any of the expansions.

BF1942 was fun for the time, and imo is a bit more skill based, but god damn BF2 is some hot shit.

Wow, MAF Classic is back.

I like BF2142, but that's because I'm a nut for future combat stuff. BF2 is the game to get if you want the latest mods and lots of people to play with (BF2 has more people playing than BF2142, though 2142 has plenty of people playing online too).

BF1942 is mostly stunt servers these days iirc.

Just get plain BF2  .. no expansions. It's a great game you can easily lose 100 hours playing.

I put so much time into BF1942 when it came out in high school. I always wanted to try the sequals but never got around to it. Does BF2142 really suck? It looked cool. What sucks about it?

BF2 is better than BF1942, which I spent more time on than any PC game in existence, but that has been surpassed by BF2.

We should start playing BF2 with each other.  I can't play online in the wild because everyone that's playing it has been playing it for a longass time, so I get rape raped.

I might be game for that since the GAF Supreme Commander crew is sort of falling apart. :(

Won't be able to play much until after the wedding/honeymoon though.

I would have to install it and then install all the patches .. but I would be up for it if we had some concrete assurances that people would play.

just reinstalled BF2, updated to the latest patch but when I go into the game and try to find a server its like there are no servers running it WTF ???

its v1.41 full I installed.

update: looks like I didn't install 1.41 after all.  ::)

I'll play BF2 with you all. I have it installed and patched up-to-date on my external HDD. I also have 2142 and its neat, but meh. I don't have any of the expansions to BF2 though.
