Does anybody remember Fighting Force? Man that was such a great game. We would have hours of fun playing it with my nephews. Besides the obvious Contra games there aren't many good co-op games.

Fighting Force was good fun. I'm mad that there are hardly any co-op RPGs. I still play Secret of Mana with my friends sometimes.

Fighting Force??
:yuck :yuck :yuck
(Sorry guys. :) )
Nothing beats the likes of Double Dragon, Final Fight, and Streets Of Rage. Sengoku 3 rocks too. Really if you want co-op, get yourself MAME and some PC-enabled pads or sticks and go to town...there's tons of games out there. And if you want more Contra-style action, don't forget about Metal Slug 1-6!
Best co-op experience I've had in a recent game was Crackdown. Before that was probably both Champions of Norrath games on the PS2.

I played every game you mentioned except Sengoku 3, Crackdown and Champions of Norrath (don't 4get Battletoads + DD and 2D TMNT games). I still liked Fighting Force.

CoN is a pretty badass 2 player experince. Unless you're with some loot hogging bastard, then the best tactic is to run in the corner during a big fight and let them die and then never go near those light orb things to revive them until they learn to behave.
