Title: Bloodwake celebrates hitting 1000 posts by saying how much he loves Doctor Who
Post by: Bloodwake on April 23, 2007, 01:01:00 AM
So, I found the new series in the library of Doctor Who, season one, and watched the first three episodes.

Holy fucking shit. I'm hooked.

It's corny in so many ways, but the fucking character of the Doctor kicks all ass. I know that all of them are different (the different reincarnations) but this one has this carefree side to him and such a dark side as well. What an awesome character (and deep). I'm only three fucking episodes in.

Plus, I would open Rose's time portal with my sonic screwdriver any day.

Don't listen to G.  Both David Tennant and Christopher Eccleston are great in different ways.

I'm glad you like the show and are appreciating the camp factor.  It's kind of a difficult show to recommend because you never know how people will take the cheese.

Yeah, at first, I was like "wow, this music is fucking horrible." Then, the Doctor jumps in to Rose's world and the awesome began.

Alright, so I'm going to finish the first series up this weekend, and probably torrent the second on the weekends/ at the coffee shop where I can download from BitTorrent.

I REALLY want to see the older Doctor Who episodes (even the seventh Doctor episodes) I've heard REALLY fucking good things about Tom Baker, and Eccelstein is fucking great so far. I even got my roommate fucking hooked.

DOCTOR WHO FUCK YES.

STFU PD.

Be aware when you go back to the older Doctors, you have to put up with much inferior production values.  They have the same feel when it comes to writing, but the BBC was CHEAP AS FUCK back then.  The episodes almost feel like recorded stage plays.

There are a ton of great ones, it's just that Doctor Who has a rep for being cheaply made for a reason.

That's part of what I love. It's like watching old episodes of Star Trek: TOS, except with more interesting storylines.
