Title: non-dysfunctional, largely well-adjusted folks post here!
Post by: Van Cruncheon on April 23, 2007, 11:54:46 PM
as a panacea to the whimpering self-flagellation and gross social dysfunction displayed elsewhere in this forum, i have created a thread to celebrate the sane, largely amiable existence!

i am sipping gentleman jack while me and my wife watch futurama and my daughter slumbers, lightning mcqueen and sally porsche clutched in her cute little hands. my day at work was pleasantly boring, save when maf and tvc dropped by for lunch and capitalist hijinks, and my commute was delightfully unremarkable. you don't like it that my life's okay? HAW HAW! IN YOUR TEARY-EYED EMO FACE!

so, all ye smug and self-satisfied evilboreans with talent, ambition, and discipline: celebrate!

Edit: NO LIARS ALLOWED

So who exactly can post in here?  I think I might be pretty dysfunctional, but like, compared to G, I'm completely normal.

I'm sitting on the couch with my wife and our obese cat watching Drive. I'm surfing the web, she's on her laptop doing homework (evening MBA program). We made paninis for dinner tonight with a nice cucumber and tomato salad. We'll probably be in bed by 10pm. We're so boring during the week, but we love it!

I'm having some rum and coke, and a sandwich after completing my first day of work.  I have some tests to take care of for school enrollment, but all is good in my academic and social life.  Later on, Chris and I will go to the neighborhood bar to drink some more (he's in a Bloody Mary phase and I am in an Irish Coffee mood), where will we play darts and watch television.  I'll talk to my girlfriend and go to bed.  Tomorrow, I go shopping and do laundry.  It is a humble, normal existence without the emo and angst.

tvc, so far, your dysfunction seems to be a charming if slightly manufactured attribute. i sorely doubt that you're bemoaning the gross inadequacies of your existence as you surf the internet for hot ogre-on-nerd porn.

Okay.  I am about to watch Father Ted and consume the last of the bottle of DethScotch.  There are about 4 fingers left in the bottle.

Oh Drinky, the sights I could show you.  I refrain from showing because your hair would have the color scared out of it if you'd see.

I'm one exam from earning myself an honours bachelor's degree from an elite university, have a probable job lined up where I start a career as a part of one of Canada's national symbols, and I have actually managed to have a steady relationship with a human female for the past 4+ months.

I spent my 21st birthday with members of the Vietnamese mafia, unbeknownst to me at the time. My cousin and I were the only white people in this one club, and being with the VM was the only thing that kept us from being shot, apparently. And then, later that night, I got 21 birthday spankings by the large lesbian bouncer at a local gay club.

It was an awesome night.

My 21st birthday was rather uneventful.  Disposable White Guy and another friend took me to a local bar for my first legal alcoholic beverage, but it was dead and full of "regular" drunks slumping at the bar.  A one man band started performing, so we left and planned an elaborate 21st birthday party in D.C., but got tired and went to bed.

My mom gave me a few hundred dollars to spend on a cruise for my birthday for spring break, which I turned into even more hundreds thanks to casino gambling, sex, booze and women for about seven days in the Caribbean.  It was the best birthday present ever.  I sowed enough oats for four evilborians.

I'm about to watch Heroes after waiting for 1.5 months.

I'll probably sleep late playing EDF 2017 tonight since I start school at 11:30 this week because of STAR testing.

I have no homework left because the copier in my school's motherfucking library didn't send me the the parts of the project so I could email when I scanned it so screw any fucking person involved in making it, I'm going to watch Heroes.

I'm drinking water and watching my cat while she sleeps. :) I'm also reading this forum and my LiveJournal friends list.

Today I went to both of my classes, and inbetween them I had lunch with my friend Candace, her girlfriend, and an older male nursing student who is cool and knows Candace. I hadn't been able to have lunch with Candace for a while so it's cool.

After school I drove my little brother and my dad's dog to a local record store so I could run in quickly for a present for my mom for mothers' day. The dog was being a good girl so we stopped at McDonald's for a cheeseburger. No onions, of course, as they're toxic to dogs. :)

When we got back to my parents' house there was a message on the machine calling my brother into work, so he changed and I drove him up. We took his cat for the ride this time--don't even ask me why because I have no idea.

When I got back to my parents house I ran spyware scans on their computer and found 210 critical objects with AdAware! Hahahaha....then I talked briefly with my mom who was being cool today, and went to see my best friend/sister.

My Marisa and I watched probably 4 episodes of Grey's Anatomy. Then I came home.

Now I have to write a paper about theology, and possibly work on a PowerPoint for a presentation I'm doing on Wednesday about corporal punishment.

Tomorrow I am running for vice president of the Psychology Club, which I am currently the secretary of. Wednesday I am running for president of Commuter Council, which I ran for last year and lost.

I should post this to my journal instead of here. Oh well. O HAY GUYS.

It's basically an SAT like test that the school's take for a whole week every grade level except 12 to see how much money they get from the government.

I mean, a high score with 95 percentile and above average for the school means lots of asians.  Lower means hispanics, blacks, pd's etc.

Okay, I'll keep with the vision of the thread.

Yesterday I spent the evening packing up stuff because I'm going to be moving to a bigger place soon.  Today I'm at work, planning for tomorrow, but unfortunately the color printer seems to be acting up so I can't print out the flash cards I need.  I'm waiting for one of the computer teachers to stop by and see if he can fix whatever's wrong with it.

After classes I'm going over to meet with the science club and we're gonna be making pancakes.  After that, I'll probably go to the post office and drop off some packages I need to send back home.

Today was pretty good. I am getting married on Saturday, so the whole week is pretty dominated by wedding-related stuff-and I have the whole week off from work.

Started out with some breakfast over a few short Supreme Commander replays around 9:30 AM. Did some housework and laundry until 11:30. Made a couple of phone calls to check in with the bed and breakfast where I am getting married and to the florist to arrange a time to come in for last-minute verification of stuff. Had lunch at noon, nothing special.

Did some more housework outside-we had a terrible windstorm last week and there was much sweeping to be done, and did some gardening to tidy things up a bit. Called the handyman who is coming Wednesday to do some tile work. Forum whored out of boredom for a while, tried to troll the console gamers on GAF but they are dense like concrete to highbrow trolling.

At around 5PM or so I ran to the grocery store to grab some stuff for tonights dinner (a venison chili that turned out excellent). Fiance got home around 7:00  from her fieldwork and just wanted to eat and fall asleep after playing a hour or WoW-she's been in bed for a while now. Called my parents to check on a few things wedding-related. Did another load of laundry, cleaned the kitchen, and  then played some Titan Quest and Battlefield 2142 until about 30 minutes ago.

Good day indeed. More housework to do tomorrow!

Yah, but I'm one of those non meat eaters.  In fact, I don't even use the stupid flavor packets that come with it- too much sodium.  I just use some low-sodium soy sauce and some spices for seasoning.

Finally an internet thread for me.

I have a steady job on campus, and I'm close finishing a degree.

I love my parents and my siblings (although my older sister is kind of annoying at times).

I have never been on any medication save for pain, physical illness or allergies.

I am not into any weird sexual fetishes such as fursuits, chicks with dicks, or what have you.

Other than being a bit lazy and a procrastinator I'd say I'm pretty damn all right.

i'm prolly the most well-adjusted person here.

I've been called everything from weird and offbeat to extremely normal to the point of being boring by friends and acquaintances, I don't know what the deal is.

Just got into work, it's absolutely gorgeous out, the weather finally decided to pick up after being stuck below 40 for a while. So now I'm sitting here, reading EB, waiting for my project manager to get in, so he can give me the SQL server software I need for my next project. Gonna probably take a walk in a few minutes to the cafeteria to get breakfast - cereal (no milk... OK that is kind of weird I'll admit :P) and some tea.

Yesterday was another day at the office, had a booooring 2 and a half hour meeting, where we talked about reviving a project that was halted due to a lack of funds, but we finally got some more money for, so we were getting re-acquainted with everything. And yesterday nite, one of the girls I've been seeing called, and we talked and made plans to chill later this week. Then I fried up some wings for dinner and played GOD HAND which undeniably kicks ass.

Yesterday for me was sooooooooooo busy.  My wife is interning at a high school in Westchester (bout 45 min. away) so we get up at 6 and I drive her to the school then I usually get to work early now at around 8:30.  I usually just surf the net till 9 and then get working.  So I'm tired and work from 9-5 then I have to go to work at Gamestop tonight (I usually work mon. & wed.) which means I won't be getting home until 10:30.  Last night was a bit different though as when I pulled into the driveway there was what looked like a box near the fence.  A closer inspection revealed that it was an animal carrying case with a kitty inside.  We live right near a kennel so someone must have left the kitten because they didn't want it so I bring it inside and put it in the bathroom for the night, not before noticing there's another kitty in the box.  They were so cute I wanted to play with them but I was sooooooooooooo tired from having been up since 6 am so I went to bed.

Then this morning we get up again at 6 and the only difference is that today before we left I dropped the cats off with a note near the kennel (gotta call them to see if the kitties are alright) and tonight I don't have to go to work so I'll actually get to spend a little bit of time with my wife (yay! :hyper).  Rinse and repeat for the next two weeks until her internship is done (can't wait).
