use your ps3's people.
-
I use mine quite often! :o
...To play PS2 games. Downloading the demo as I type this...
-
this is the first interesting (cause I played the old one) exclusive I've seen so far on ps3, I hope it's good. How big's the demo, how fast does it download?

How long the download takes depends on your connection. I saw some people saying it took hours...took me about 25-30 minutes. The game is a bit over 900mb IIRC.
The demo is out for both U.S. and Japan. U.S. is the one to get; the Japanese version is censored (no decaps)
Hastily snapped shit-quality pic:

When you start, it's the first stage of Ninja Gaiden, just like in the original Xbox demo. Once you clear the level, it unlocks harder difficulty options and the special missions mode where you get to play as Rachel. She plays differently than Ryu, which is good, since a "pallette swap" style would have been a major disappointment!
-
I cant even fucking dl my PS3 UPDATE because of this. Shitty ass Sony Network

Dude why? There's Ninja Gaiden and Ninja Gaiden Black. If you've played those two, I can't imagine why someone would be so interested in playing a remake for the SECOND TIME.
-
It looks pretty good and PS3 owners NEED something to play.

Because they added combos and greatly improved the graphics.

.
And damn Lyte Edge, that shot looks great!

It felt really weird playing Ninja Gaiden with the Sixaxis... I'm sure I'll get used to it eventually, but for now it's wonky as hell to me. I guess I'm really used to playing it with an Xbox Type S controller.
-
it's not much of an upgrade. and what's with the slowdown and tearing? i tried to play the rachel mission, but my wife kept mocking me. :(

and rightfully so you pansy
-
The tearing is sad, but the texture and lighting upgrade IS an improvement, and its NOT like most Sony fans got a chance to play this while ignoring the XBox.
Ill get it for my PS3 to validate my 600 dollar purchase.
-
I'm playing it on an SDTV, and it doesn't look all that much better than NGB (which I'm sure isn't HD). There are a few new effects, and there's a bit more to the environment, but it doesn't look like a huge leap. Indoors areas (at least in mission 1, I didn't do Rachel yet) appear nearly identical.
Still a great game and I am glad more people will get to play it.
-
It'll probably see a 360 port eventually. Its just a technica refinement of an already great game. Plus sigma has all the fixes (camera) that NGBlack had iirc.
-
From waht I hear, the camera in Sigma is different from NGB's.
-
Why
-
Bebpo said at gaf that the camera auto centers or some shit.
-
Yeah, the camera felt better than Black's. I can't really quantify it much because I only played a little bit. It definitely felt more refined.

Yes, I think we'll eventually see Ninja Gaiden Black Sigma Ultimate on 360 at some point.
Demo rocks; loving it and can't wait to play the final game in a few months. Meanwhile I have Devil May Cry 3 to play...
-
Along with the new Rachel levels, there are going to be some new Ryu levels, too, right?
I only played the original Xbox version, so the Black additions along with new levels will probably get me to buy Sigma.
The controls are still a little wonky, though. The Sixaxis analog sticks seem a little looser to me, which is what is bugging me, I think.
-
I honestly hate the sixaxis, I was wrestling with it in Shining Force Exa last night, somethings off about the whole controller. In ANY CASE Shining Force EXA is getting traded in for the unforgivable and impossible position it put me in.
-
I'm thinking that my problem is that I've been playing God of War II, so I'm expecting Ryu to roll with the right stick. And the camera was a little problematic in some of the small rooms in the demo.
-
haha, i kept trying to do the right stick roll, too.
-
I played Ninja Gaiden Sigma's demo at my cousin's today. Not really impressed aside from the graphics. They sped the action just a tiny tad so it initially feels different, but any Ninja Gaiden fan could adjust easily.
It was pretty much the same thing but with brighter colors and a worse camera. I honest cannot stand the camera in Sigma. The camera in the original was annoying, but Black fixed it up a bit. Now, however, the camera auto ceners on Ryu and you constantly have to change the angle while fighting, something you don't need to do at all even in the original version.
Quite frankly, if you have already played Ninja Gaiden for Xbox there is little reason to check out Sigma unless you're a big NG freak. If you haven't played Ninja Gaiden, it would cost less to just get a 360, download the Xbox compatability updates and play Black. I'm still wondering why Team Ninja is even doing this project. Why release ANOTHER Ninja Gaiden update instead of just working on Ninja Gaiden 2?
The controls take time to get used to if you've put some time into the Xbox version, but for some reason they still don't feel as tight as they do with Controller S. Lack of triggers. :-\

jesus statements like these give me flashbacks of GCN and N64

I think they're releasing Sigma primarily so more Japanese will play it, due to their disinterest in everything Xbox.
-
But the Japanese are shunning the ps3....

Yeah. Who the hell knows, then.
I still think it'll end up selling more in Japan than NG and NG Black did, though.
-
I agree there.
It just makes more sense to me making Ninja Gaiden 2 and making it multiconsole. DMC4 is going multiconsole, if that's the case, the ps3 deserves some NG lovin.

Isn't only a portion of Team Ninja working on Sigma, while the rest are working on something else, which may be either Code Cronus or NG2?
I also kinda think that Sigma is coming to the PS3 to gauge interest in NG2 being multiconsole.
-
What is Code Cronus?
-
What is Code Cronus?
I dunno, something that Itagaki has been blabbing about since the first DOAX came out...
-
I was looking at some of the enemy designs in Ninja Gaiden, and really thought hard about the series and came to the conclusion that Team Ninja knows jack crap about character designs.
