Shamelessly stolen from GAF.

All three teenagers had danced, smoked cannabis and snorted "ice", or methylamphetamine, together at a party in Collie on June 17, 2006.
The trio stayed at the same house that Saturday night, Eliza in one bedroom while her then 16-year-old killers slept together in a second room.
Idly chatting the next morning, the girls discovered neither of them would feel bad about killing someone, a subject they had covered before when a boy offended one of them. That boy lived.
But the teenagers planned how to kill Eliza, dressing in old clothes and strangling her with speaker wire before they buried her body under the house. They then reported Eliza missing and pretended to help with the search before finally turning themselves into police after deciding the grave was so shallow discovery was inevitable.
"We discussed what would happen if we sort of killed Eliza. . . we both admitted we wouldn't care," one of the girls said in her subsequent interview with shocked police. "I said do you want to?. . . she said, yeah, and we did it."
One of the teens strangled Eliza, while her accomplice held the struggling girl down and pressed a chemical-soaked cloth to their victim's mouth.
The girl who twisted the wire around Eliza's throat chillingly described to police how she watched her victim's emotions shift from anger, to fear, to the realisation she was going to die. "She was face up to me as I was doing it," she said. "She started to get scared, she started to cry. It was all blood coming out of her mouth."
The other girl said: "She started not being able to get her breath, and we just kept going. "She was just yelling at us `What the ****, what are you doing'. . . 'Oh you freaks, what's wrong with you psychos."
They strangled Eliza because one of them had to return to Perth that afternoon and they wanted a quick and "non-messy" killing.
"As our friend, we did not really want her to suffer," one said. "We knew it was wrong but it didn't feel wrong at all, it just felt right. "We were willing to take the risk. "We said if we did get caught, shit happens, and we will deal with it."
Here's the best part.
Mr Stone called for life in prison but the girls' lawyers want finite sentences set.
Eliza's mother Erin said this week that she wished they could get the death penalty.
Unfuckingbelievable. I'd say they're beyond rehabilitation at this point. They should be hung.

man, sometimes i wish there really WAS a dexter out there. those girls would make such nice little packages :heart

my one major un-librul quality -- well, okay, my second after my semi-secret love of firearms -- is my slightly biblical view of justice. seriously; if you transgress on another person's life or property in a severe fashion, you should really expect to get the worst in return. despite the psychological reasoning -- that ultimately they have no control over emotions they can't feel -- i see no justification in allowing obvious psychopaths to live. you can't rehabilite them any more than you can make an armless man grow hands. they simply serve no long-term purpose to society, and present a danger that outweighs any benefit they might somehow provide.

Said it better than I could.
By the way, what was the relevance of mentioning the party the night before?
-
I hate the United States' justice system. Small offenses are punished and murder is given a slap on the hand.
-
If I was the father of the girl who was died, I'd slowly kill all of them.

Well, that justifies a mandatory life sentence, but not the death penalty.
Speaking of psychopaths.
Using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), researchers in the United States, Germany, and elsewhere have started taking scans of the brains of psychopaths while the patients view horrific images, such as photographs of bloody stabbings, shootings, or evisceration. When normal people view these images, fMRI scans light up to indicate heavy brain activity in sections of the emotion-generating limbic system, primarily the amygdala, which is believed to generate feelings of empathy. But in psychopathic patients, these sections of the amygdala remain dark, showing greatly reduced activity or none at all. This phenomenon, known as limbic underactivation, may indicate that some of these people lack the ability to generate the basic emotions that keep primitive killer instincts in check.
Precrime?

Nope. The texan in me wins over the liberal. Those girls are worthless. They already admitted they don't feel bad about killing their friend. . . and rehabilitation is a joke.
Why send them to jail and turn a couple of demented amateurs into for-real, no shit felons? GAS EM.
-
Lol GAF already blaming it on drugs. The article doesn't make it clear enough between when they did meth and when they killed the girl. Even if, I doubt it influenced their behavior all that much. You know, unless torturing cats and not feeling any remorse after killing someone is a long term side affect of meth.

They should be sent to a maximum security prison with lots of horny, big black men.

death by mandingo?
-
I think death is the easy way out. Keep them in jail till the realize the horror of their crime - then kill them.
