wow, crap total. all the simplicity and depth of the original is gone, replaced by some baffling shallow experience with an annyoing rpg-lite mode. fan service only. yugioh gx tag force on the psp is a better card battler.

Anything decent on the DS horizon? Theres pretty much nothing Im looking forward to other than Phoenix Wright 3

A friend of mine and I bought the Neo Geo Pocket Color the Christmas after it first came out - with some online Kay-Bee coupons we each got an NGPC for the sweet price of $55.  We ended up getting a few games for it (it was kinda sad, we were the only two people who played it), but by far the one we played the most was Cardfighter's Clash.  I got the Capcom version, he got the SNK version.  I put at least 90 hours into the game, it was so much fun.  It was definitely broken, though, due to the ranked system - once you got a few of the really rare cards, all strategy went out the window and it just became a game of "see who pulls out Mech Akuma first."

I picked up the DS version the other day but I haven't started playing it yet other than giving it a quick look-see.  I want to finish Super Robot Taisen: Original Generation for the second time before I start anything new (I finished the Ryusei path and now I started over on the Kyosuke path).  I hope that even if it's broken, it'll be fun.  I'm happy to support SNK Playmore, anyway...they're putting out stuff like Metal Slug Anthology and the Neo Geo Collections (even if those are Japan only) which are truly gaming treasures.

Sad that they couldn't just bring over the fun in CFC without needlessly molesting it like they must of to make the game a :/ experience. I loved more than a few games on the NGPC, but that one was the best.

I really hate that all the neat card battle games for the PC are of the 'buy booster packs online' bullshit. I love the genre and crave good mutliplayer, but I'm not going to pay cash for cards like that. Even for something as geeky awesome like Stargate Online Trading Card Game (http://stargateonlinetcg.station.sony.com/index.vm).

Yeah, I'd play that as well. I dabbed in M:TG once at a geek party when they stopped wanted to lose against me at wargames and bridge, and it was sort of fun.

The CCG model would work extremely well as an episodic gaming model, but everyone's too hung up on nickel and diming a smaller userbase instead.

If MAF/Drinky/TVC15 get it, I'll probably break down and get a 360 just for it. Catan is a FANTASTIC, amazing board game and Brian Reynolds' team is one of the few groups that that could pull off the game in a online format successfully.

Around 5AM EST, they're really slow on new releases, 5AM is a good estimate

I played a few hours of this today and I'm really disappointed.  All of the charm of the original is gone.

I've never played the original and I'm getting a huge Pokemon TCG for GBC vibe from this... but this is extremely boring. Wow. Might have to go play Pokemon TCG again.
