It really is a nice little comedy. It takes a few episodes to turn into a swan, but once it does, it's pretty great. People have made comparisons to AD in the past, and while I don't think it's a fair comparison, I can see why people make it. Both shows are very self-aware comedies that are at least a degree smarter than anything else on television. 30 Rock also has a pretty much perfect cast, and just like AD, its ratings completely blow, but the network has shown confidence enough to renew it for a second season.
You folks should check it out, and give it about 5 episodes or so. It starts out decent, but it ends up being a fine, fine comedy.

It has its moments.

I watched the episode that had Will Arnett as a guest star just because he was a guest star. I enjoyed it. This might spur me to check it out from the beginning.

i'm only 7 episodes in, so it may go south for all I know. It's the best US network comedy I have seen since The Office. And so far it isn't burdened by the shitty romance bullshit that sunk that show.

WTF at Heroes being a dud, dont say its so TVC. You dont like Heroes? String Theory was one of the most awesome episodes of tv ever. Peter can pull of a pretty awesome bad ass.
30 rock is ok it has its moments. Plus Tina Fey and Cloud look good.

I've seen this one and the one where they play poker and I the one where Baldwin sets Tina Fey up with another woman.
I think I might do like the Office and use summer to get into it.

Heroes has some of the worst writing I've seen since like, Small Wonder. I can understand that some television shows require you to leave your brain at the door, but that rule doesn't apply when a show pretends to be some sort of drama. Heroes is completely embarrassing to watch, and there hasn't been a single episode I've seen where there hasn't been at least a few groaner, really shitty and lame plot developments.

I've only managed to catch one episode, but it was enough to sell me.
(about his upcoming appearence on the show)
Alec Baldwin: You see, I've been studying up on comedy, look, I've been watching Friends.
(Tina Fey looks somewhat confused)
:lol :lol :lol

Alec Baldwin kind of makes the show. He's the perfect straight man, and I never would've guessed it. It's a pity he threatened to rape, murder and barbecue his daughter.

I know, I could never enjoy a Tom Hanks film again after his love of torching hoboes came to light.

Then I can't agree with you any longer. :(

Alec's best role ever since Glengarry Glen Ross is this show. And TVC the show continues to grow better. The last half of the season is when it is hitting on all cylinders. I don't worry about the Alec thing. It happened after the season was over and when the show is back on in September/October I doubt many will remember it.

wait, people still like heroes? it's so obviously poor.

Fuck it; I like Heroes, 30 Rock and Gianna.
