Title: Three..Extremes or Saam gaang yi

So my friend told me about it, should I bother seeing it (and 2 I suppose) considering he already told me what happens or is it violence for the sake of violence?

Well, that was dickish of him to spill the beans.

But yeah, you and everybody else here with good taste should check out Three Extremes.  Its three of the more artful horror films you'll ever see, all three pieces are gorgously shot, well acted, and feature some very prominent international talent.  It makes for a good primer for Asian cinema.

and its friggin creepy and has some really outstanding scenes.  Heck, Box is the best thing I've ever seen Miike make.

He only spoilt Dumplings (which ironically makes me want to see it) and Box and I don't mind things being spoilt that much.
Apparently Park's short is the best (according to IMDB) and I only have a general clue what that's about.

Looks like I'll being seeing it soon  :-X

Its great, really.
and you might be okay, Dumplings has a short and long version available, both of which are on the USA DVD, and they are rather different.

and if you're lucky, your friend was a dumbass who didn't get Box(a dumbass with good taste, but still), and couldn't adequately explain it.  I'd rank.

but I'd only barely place any of them ahead of the others, they are all really good.

I can't believe he told you that.  He must be the type of guy who skips straight to the end of every book.  If I asked his opinion on The Sixth Sense, would he tell me Bruce was dead all along?

and Box is still pretty dang great without the surprise.

Nah it's about the journey not the end. I just didn't want to get it and see some plodding plot, dull characters and gratuitous violence. Anyway I'll probably see it with a few other friends and watch their reactions  :lol
