Title: Anyone have a Mad Catz Gamepad 360?
Post by: Ecrofirt on May 02, 2007, 12:38:05 PM
So, I feel like a total ass. There was one up on Ebay last night that I was planning to bid on, an I ended up bidding like a half second too late :(

I LOVE this controller. If anyone has one any wants to offload it, I'll pay like $15 after shipping.

Cocaine is a hell of a drug, son.

The Mad Catz 360 pad I held was a cheap piece of shit.

EDIT: Apologies if it's not the same thing.

EDIT 2: This?

That controller fits in the hands  just as well as the official controller. In fact, I like it a lot more for several reasons:

The triggers and buttons have been moved to a position that fits the middle and pointer fingers better.
The d-pad blows the official piece of shit pad away (and YES, I've done the sandpaper trick. That shit STILL SUCKS for emulation. Nikki can confirm this.)

The ONLY thing I don't like about the controller is the position of the Start and Back buttons. They'd have done better if those were in the same spot as the Microsoft ones.

But for emulation, the Gamepad 360 blows the official MS pad out of the water. There's no comparison.

TXB agrees:
http://hardware.teamxbox.com/reviews/xbox-360/35/Mad-Catz-GamePad-Pro/p1/ - Gamepad Pro review (9.2)
http://hardware.teamxbox.com/reviews/xbox-360/37/Xbox-360-Wireless-Controller/p1/ - Official Wireless Controller (9.0)

The only difference between the Gamepad and Gamepad Pro is rubberized grips and a turbo button.

I'll certainly buy one of those too, if that's what someone has.

I could swear I heard somebody say they got one in a store around here for 16$. Gimme a day and I'll ask him. His is broke (winding it up too tight) but he got it at one of the big box electronics places in LEX.

Thanks a bundle.

Yea, I've been wondering why people used to sell them brand new on eBay for like $13. I got Nikki hers brand new for like $13 or $14 after shipping.

ecro, according to cagrabber, a new one can be had for ~20 bones. Used, take a fiver off of that.

How much do used ones go for?

When they're available, new ones can be found on eBay for $15 after shipping. A used one just went 2 days ago for $11.50 or so (I fucked up trying to bid on that at the last second :(). I haven't looked at Gamestop because I can't imagine their prices being that low.
