My favorite story about Rob Thomas is when he told an interviewer about how much he liked Wilco. But then he read an interview with Jeff Tweedy where Tweedy was all "Matchbox 20 is TEH BALLAZ" and Rob Thomas talked about how it never dawned on him that Wilco might not like him back.

Don't waste your time on this trash, demi. Heroes is significantly less shitty than this.

I own Season 1 and 2 DVDs. I will own Season 3. I love LOST. Go away.

I want to get into Lost next. Is the first season as omg amazing as everyone says?
-
The first season is mostly good, although it still relies on the whole annoying flashback formula the whole series does. After season one, it reverts to the worst sort of serialized writing. . .make things up as you go along.
I'd really recommend avoiding the show. It's just going to give you blue balls. If you want a show that does the same sort of breadcrumbing, but is much more entertaining in general, check out the X-Files.
-
I used to watch X-Files with my parents; they loved that show lol.
I was listening to a radio show awhile ago and the host said something along the lines that Lost's creaters didn't intend for the show to have this many seasons. ABC stepped in and changed that. Interesting

The first season is very briskly paced. It moves fast, it sets lots of things up, it introduces lots of characters with SECRETS. It also ends on an incredibly eventful set of episodes, and to date, nearly two full seasons later, there has been very little definite resolution to the things set up at the end of the first season. They have dragged things out, piled mysteries on mysteries to further the obfuscation, introduced new, uninteresting characters. . .it's like heroin. You get hooked and it's all downhill from there.
I can honestly say the first season is very entertaining TV, but in hindsight, it's not worth it knowing what happens afterwards. Avoid like the plague. There's nothing as awful as an unsatisfactory resolution.
EDIT: The writing also relies a lot on contrivances and convenient coincidences. It was kind of forgivable in season one because, well, it was the first show to do it, and there still appeared to be reason to the madness. We know better now.
-
Maybe I'll avoid it then. I know a few Lost fans who are just...angry. It's like they complain about how little is revealed, then they run home and watch the next album like it's the most important thing ever. Hm :-\
-
Like I said, the first season is good. I just don't believe it is good enough to justify the blue balls that come afterwards.
-
watch the next album you say
-
don't believe TVC. Season 2 blows and though season 3 picked up where season 2 left off, it has gotten increasingly better as the season has progressed. It's "back" in that I'm excited each Wednesday again.

Too bad there's no possible way for their to be a satisfactory conclusion anymore, though. Making things up as you go along for at least a full season kind of prevents that.
Don't listen to him, PD. Even if season 3 is a recovery, the events of season 2 make it evident that there's no satisfactory explanations for what's going on.

WHOM SHOULD I BELIEVE

WHOM SHOULD I BELIEVE
The only way to know who is right is to watch :D
-
Believe what you want. Even if season 3 does make everything better, do you REALLY want to waste 22 hours on season 2, an awful, awful season of television?
-
I'm gonna watch my backlog when the LCD comes in, this CRT is oldhat. Should be caught up for the SEASON FINALE. Gotta watch that shit live.
-
Season 3 sucks.
