Some light spoilers should be warned of..etc This is by no means a lengthy pd review, I hate doing reviews but meh here we go.
I went in clueless on what I'd expect. I was praying for it to be at least as good as Spider-Man 1.
The film exceeded that. The gaf/critic hate confuses me. The film is not Spider-Man 2 but it far exceeds Spider-Man 1. It's biggest problem was it was over-stuffed. But it worked for the most part. I kept worrying about the emo peter stuff but it was PERFECT. It was hilarious and the entire montage of emo peter was one of the greatest moments in the trilogy. His swagger down the street, flirting with cake girl. Priceless.
Venom worked in his short scenes, I felt Sandman was the least needed but his final fight was worth it. James Franco turned in his best acting of the trilogy. His little cooking date with MJ which turned into a fun musical scene where they danced was epitomized his mischievous attitude in the film which I really enjoyed.
The action was of course to be expected, good. The final scene was AMAZING but the news people interuppting it was weird and out of place. I also didn't like that Eddie dived back for the suit, it felt tacky. But still the film is not nearly as flawed as the internet/critics made it to be. And do I need to mention Bruce Campbell?
8.5/10
1. Spider-Man 2 (9.5/10)
2. Spider-Man 3 (8.5/10)
3. Spider-Man (7.5/10)

I bashed this movie since day 1 kiddo

The musical scenes and Bruce Campbell were perfect. That much should be said. But these seemed more Raimi having fun in spite of the movie than adding anything to the whole picture.
Raimi having fun is what MADE the movie to me. I loved all the musical montages.
It made NO SENSE AT ALL for harry and mj to start "doing the twist" with music blaring but I loved it.

:lol
Go without her dude. I was going to go on Sunday, but it looks like I'll have to wait until Monday

As long as you admit Topher Grace (acting and whatever plot point he served in the movie) was awful we're cool Cheebs.
he was annoying, yes. But Franco, Dunst (fuck the haters), and disco Tobey + Raimi going insane with fun musical montages made this a very enjoyable film.

I got my tickets for tomorrow - will see it after work! Yay!
I think the GAF hate is a bit much. We were selling copies of Spider-Man 3: The Game like it was going out of style, and we're located right next to a movie theatre, so people kept coming in and saying they really liked it. The general concensus from Joe Schmoe seems to be either one of two reactions: "It was awesome!" or "It was good, but not as good as [Spidey 2/Batman Begins/Superman]." I haven't heard anyone bash it yet. The worst I heard was two folks say it was just okay.

k. when do you want me to pick you up?
Tomorrow at 9:30 would be fine, thx.
Is Ecro not a nice boy?
Ecro is wonderful. I'm just being silly. :)

I skipped over the review because I didn't want any spoilers. I'll watch it after my test on Monday. Can someone just tell me if it's worth driving 35 miles and paying the extra money to watch Spiderman 3 in IMAX format.

Just see it at a digital theater if you can. The quality of the imax is great and all but honestly I've been hearing that the digital copy is much cleaner. Which would make those action scenes all so more hot.
35 miles is a nice get away though.

add me to the "surprisingly good" camp.
So it doesn't quite have the heart of the previous movies, and sometimes the whole thing feels kinda perfunctionary, but there's some outstanding sequences and some really funny stuff between the slow parts. Its not great-mega-awesome, but its still at the top of the heap for comic book flicks of recent years.
Bruce Campbell's part was pretty dang good. Love that guy.
