Think about it. You've got Evil Dead and Spider-Man, the originals. Then you've got Evil Dead 2 and Spider-Man 2, which are basically remakes of the original (moreso for Evil Dead, but you'd be surprised the amount of people have called S-M2 a remake), but vastly superior in every way. Then you've got Army of Darkness and Spider-Man 3, both of which pretty much make the full-on turn into parody.

You do have a point there. Let me digest this.
-
Nope. SM2 was not a remake!
-
Who the hell would say Spider-Man 2 was a remake? No sane person would.
btw, Evil Dead 2? Not a remake either.
-
Hm.
I'm confused. ED2 not a remake?
-
I'm probably going to get a whole gang of people in here after me (Will, help me out here!), but ED2 had a recap of the events of the first movie during the first 10-15 or so minutes. Of ED2 I mean (that's worded awkwardly I know). Up to the point where the evil goes through the cabin and Ash turns around and screams (which we saw at the end of ED1). From the moment when he's flying through the forest and hits the tree on, it's a totally different movie. That's where the sequel aspect of it begins. It is confusing, and I am being slightly anal, but it's not technically a remake.
-
Yeah, I thought that might be what you meant.
Look, despite that weak attempt by Raimi to turn ED2 into a sequel. . at heart, it is a remake. Even more so than Superman Returns.
-
Now you see here! *shakes finger*
Aww, I can't argue with you :-*
I haven't seen Superman Returns. Not that I really care to.
-
Don't do it, it sucks. He's in almost all the same situations as superman 1, but he's no Christopher Reeve.
And I know it is a different ending, but still. . it's the same movie. I LOVE EVIL DEAD but it is a remake.
-

I wouldnt. But Ive heard tons of idiots say that.
-
The difference is that none of the Evil Dead movies blew total ass, and none of the Spider-Man movies are rewatchable.
-
Where is Willco? Im always down for a Whitey-Feder tete-a-tete.

I figured I wouldn't like it. From what I saw in the trailers and just the look of Routh, I knew it would probably disgrace the original.

That's actually really cool. My friend and I got our drafting teacher in high school to show Army Of Darkness during all of his classes on Halloween one year. All of the girls hated, I mean hated it, and about half the guys did too. It was a little disheartening. Even since then, never met a girl that actually liked Army of Darkness, let alone Evil Dead 1 or 2. :o

Nah, I know you wouldn't. You have taste and I respect your opinion. And you're sane.

Evil dead 2 is one of my top ten movies ever. I love horror movies. And laughing. And bruce campbell!
Bubba Hotep ftw.
-
Well you are pretty damn awesome then!

"Shit! Get old, you can't even cuss someone and have it bother 'em. Everything you do is either worthless or sadly amusing."

Solo has the rough outline of something plausible. I think Spider-Man 3 is more or less the result of studio interference and Sam's ego letting him think he could juggle so much.
-
Superman in Superman II also loses his powers in an equally bullshitstic way.
