I popped my game in yesterday in between studying because I was in a VF mood. I ended up playing for an hour and a half when I only wanted to play for 30 minutes. Oops. I've already clocked at least a hundred hours on the game and it's amazing that I can still pick it up to this day and have a blast for hours at a time.
Amazingly enough, even though I've played that much VF4 EVO I'm not even a VF master! The learning curve gives me more satisfication, commitment, and accomplishment than other fighters.
I was working on my Pai last night. I have always had problems with Brad when I'm Pai for some reason and last night was no exception. That fucker painted a bad mark on my record of 327 - 16. I hate Brad.
I am THINKING of trying of getting into Akira but I'm not too sure if I'm good enough for him. I have decent Aoi game, but I've never bothered trying to get up to speed with Akira and Goh. They really aren't my style at all.

haha dirty poor.
Also my Shun Di and Aoi games used to be pretty good on the Evo. Evo is also far more balanced. The 8-9th Dan Pai and Vanessas in 5 are brutal.

Goddamn! You know you're into the VF when your hands are sweating so much you drop the control and lose the match! :lol
-
How about those of us without PS2s?
Let's talk VF3tb on DC?
or VF2 on Saturn?
or maybe even VF 32X?
Maybe I don't even like VF :o

Huh? My hands sweat when I play reflex intensive games like VF.

I'M TALKING TO PEOPLE WHO LOVE VF
-
VF4 Evo was a huge improvement over VF3, which was a lot of bad ideas. 2 rocked tho.
-
VF4 was omg. I know a lot of people who hated it and refused to play with me. Said it was too slow and that "depth != fun" stuff. I don't get that at all.
-
EVO made 4 OMG, 4 alone wasnt bad, but EVO = OMG
-
I thought 4 was pretty damn good. Seemed a lot of folks were meh on it but yeah, EVO is omg.

But you have to admit that VF3 was the most amazing looking game for its time. I kept pumping in quarters even I didn't know how to play. The game was just too beautiful.
-
Looked ok but the arenas and new characters were pretty suck. Aoi didnt get 'good' till 4 and sumo man sucked.

Just ok? Now I know why you like .Hack.
-
it actually didnt look that great, they were all zombies.
-
What other 3d fighter even came close to VF3's graphics when it was launched? I'm just talking about how great VF3 looked for its time.

Soul Calibur?
-
Arcade version of VF3 came before Soul Calibur. Also, the dreamcast VF3 didn't come close to looking as good as the arcade version.

Who cares about arcades aside from Otakus?

Kids in Vegas? There wasn't much else to do if you can't gamble.

I thought VF3 was pretty advanced when it came out, but it wasn't as good as VF2. I played VF1 and VF2 a lot in the arcades back in the day, and I was going to get a Saturn just FOR VF2 goddamit.
VF has always had an amazing track record. VF3TB is really the only one that feels like a misstep.
-
VF3 wasn't amazing, so VF cant ALWAYS have had an amazing track record. Its nice to spooge over the series but only 2/4/5 have been good.

That's a good track record, if you ask me, including the first game. 3 is the only that isn't that great. I remember playing the first game in the arcades the first time and I was floored.
I don't know. VF to me is just pretty much the best 3d fighter all around. I typically can't stand 3d fighters, but VF has always hit the spot.

Reno just posted this on GAF. Hope this makes it into the 360 version, but it seems doubtful.
New interview with the AM2 team, and they're currently working on VF5 Version C for the arcades. Will this appear on the 360 version? I hope so, but I doubt it will...

Three big new additions to this newest version of VF5
Bingo mode: seems like you can play this after a VS match. Basically, a bingo sheet will come up after the match. It seems like it's only for decoration, but eh.... It only shows up on VF.net replays too, apparently. If I'm reading it right, that is.

Item Quest Mode: Unlike Knockout Trial mode, this is a new bonafide mode where you do battle against CPU opponents, and if you're able to beat all comers, you'll receive an item. I think this is being implemented because VF5 is not all that popular in the arcades, and it gives people more of an incentive to play the game, even if no one is around. The game really needs all the help it can get (it's getting destroyed by GGXX Accent Core, Gundam and Arcana at the moment...)

Combination costumes: You can now take the best aspects of two costumes and combine them into one! So, if you want to use Eileen's top from Costume A with her bottom from Costume D, it's totally possible.

I need this game.
-
The only good Eileen costume is her first one with the monkey king crown, opera monkey make up, and monkey staff.
Fuck that weird slutty shit.

Agreed
