.... just cause I like Putting Shame In Your Game.
oh and Sneakin' Out The Hospital.

That album is like 50% crap. The first half is great, the rest is garbage.
-
Totaly agree that shit was awesome. That was the second cd I ever bought. It was christmas night and tower records was open till 12pm so i got my mom to take me to get it and the Chef Aid (southpark) cd. Came home and listened to that for the whole night.z
The second half does suck though :-\ But that first half was awesome. The Beastie boys are so inconsistant with each album sadly.
-
:lol yeah I only have songs in the first section marked as good.
Maybe the label took look and said, "...make it longer."
-
It's got the largest amount of decent songs compared to the others. License to Ill is pretty fun to listen to though all the way through. Even the shitty songs are silly enough to laugh at. Check your head had my favorite beastie song of all though.

The music video where they're cops is still the best music video ever made.

also fyi, Check Your Head is the best. They were left hungry after the failure of Paul's Boutique (itself a fine album, if not a bit too cute for its own good).
-
CC Beatie Boys Anthology 2 disc DVD fucking rocks if you dont own it you should.

Yeah I always thought lines like "Yo holmes, throw in the towel / your girl got dicked by Ricky Powell", "I've been making records since you were sucking your mothers' dick" were really just too damn cute and cuddly, you know?

The Beasties' best album AND one of the best hip-hop albums of all time - you couldn't make this album today with sampling "law" being how it is.
Ask for Janice!

I'm just saying it feels a bit too much like an extension of License to Ill. The production is unimpeachable, and the second half is pure gold, but I think the first half is still marked by a blatant air of juvenility.

Isn't the one with the cops the "Sabotage" video?
Sorry, can't watch the videos while I'm at work.

I'm pretty sure that all the meathead, frat rocking Fight for Your Right to Partiers were completely thrown for a loop from "Hey Ladies", and it's quite an understatement to say that they didn't quite get "Shake Your Rump", either.
It's the sound of a band growing up and totally confusing their fanbase. I disagree that it was juvenile.
Bloodwake: no, that was "Check Your Head".

Ah, thanks.
Beastie Boys are fucking awesome, btw.

Yeah, but they really disappointed me with "To the 5 Boroughs". Their only shitty album, IMHFO

There was a such a backlash to Paul's Boutique when it was first released. It wasn't until 'Check Your Head' when people finally "got" it. Then Paul's Boutique became a cult classic.

Their last album was so wtf.
